Chapter 11
"No matter what happens I'll always be by your side...."
Zoya hugged Asad and Asad placed a soft kiss on the top of her head adjusting the dupatta on her head. Zoya smiled and went inside to find the appa. Asad walked towards Ayaan and Humera smiling. Humera saw Asad over Ayaan's shoulder and blushed, she tried to wriggle out of Ayaan's arms but Ayaan held her closer. Asad saw Humera's red cheeks and decided to help the girl. He smacked Ayaan over the head "What's happening here Ayaan Miya" asked Asad a little too loudly. Ayaan let go of Humera and smiled shyly to his bhaijaan. "Salaam Bhaijaan" said Humera softly. Asad returned his salaam. Asad looked at his baby brother and said "hits you like a freight train doesn't it". Ayaan just hugged his big brother "What a feeling "whispered Ayaan to Asad. Humera was confused and decided to take away some attention from herself. "Bhaijaan is Zoya baaji with you" asked Humera. "Ji, she is inside somewhere. What are you doing here Humera" asked Asad. "Bhaijaan, my dad is one of the chief donators and sponsors of this madressa, I come here when I need to get away from..." Humera stopped, Asad understood. Humera had been through alot in this one year. She lost her memory and when it returned she herself had found out the truth of the kind of evil woman her ammi was. Humera was the one that found badi bi and caught Raziya in the act of trying to kill badi bi. As Rajni Humera was brave enough to challenge Razia but as Humera she was a shattered daughter that lost all trust and faith in her mother. Asad admired Humera, he gently touched her head "I am going to find Zoya". As Asad was looking for Zoya, he thought how strange is life is - the man he that destroyed his family was actually the benefactor of the place that protected the love of his life. Small world thought Asad.
Meanwhile Zoya walked around the madressa, recalling all the times she cried in each place. This place offered her the protection when she needed it. First when her father abandoned her and then when she thought Asad abandoned her. Life sure does come full circle. She found her room and saw her prayer mat in the corner, she spread out the mat on the floor and began to pray. Zoya raised her hands in dua , "Mere maula, thank you for everything you have bestowed on my family. Please keep your grace forever on them. Khwaja, today we are here find out about my abbu. Give me the strength to accept whatever fate has put in my way. Thank you mere maula, for giving us Aakeer. Help me the best ammi to him. Help Mr Khan and I be the parents that that little boy deserves. I know Mr Khan and I still have alot to get through give us the strength to face all this together. Finding my abbu was always important to me, but you gave me a family that made up for what I had lost. I just hope my past does not affect my today and our future. Ya Allah, today is chand raat and you holy month starts, grant us the strength to get rid of the evil that resides in our home". Asad saw Zoya kneeling in prayer. He slowly sat next to her, covered his head and raised his hand dua as well "Mere maula, please grant Zoya's prayer and grant me her love forever". Zoya finished her prayer, as she turned, she saw Asad praying. Her heart smiled. Asad finished his prayer and looked at Zoya.

Asad kissed Zoya's forehead and they both looked forward and raised their hands and said "Ameen".
Asad and Zoya walked around the madressa and Zoya showed Asad all the places she used to play, and when she was older all the places she imagined him. They walked around until they found the Mulana. They greeted the mulana. The mulana remembered Zoya and Asad. "I am really happy that the two of you found your way back to each other. Your souls belong together, may Allah grant the two of you all the happiness and the strength to overcome anything and everything" blessed the mulana. Asad and Zoya smiled at each other. "Mulana sahib, I am not sure if you remember but 18 years ago, I was adopted from this madressa." Zoya said with tears in her eyes. The mulana remembered the first time he saw Zoya at the madressa. "Yes beti, I was not here the night you were brought, but I remember you, your hand was badly burnt and you said nothing. Tears just rolled down your cheeks, you did not even sob. I knew then you were traumatized. My begum and I took care of you as you were our own. We did not have much back then, no donation and sponsors but we really tried to give you the best medical care, only after you left actually the day after you left, we got a big sponsor who still remains our sponsor to date "said the mulana. The mulana lifted Zoya's hand and touched her scar through her sleeve "some scars and only be healed with love" said the mulana looking at Asad. Asad touched Zoya's back reassuring her that he was there. "Mulana sahib, we are actually here to find out more about the person that brought Zoya here. We are trying to find Zoya's abbu" explained Asad to the mulana. The mulana looked at Zoya and continued to speak to Asad "Like I said Asad miya, I was not here the night Zoya was brought in. My begum was here, I was told that a woman brought Zoya here and she told my begum that Zoya's abbu and ammi had died in fire. I was only here when Zeenat and Anwar came to adopt Zoya, They are a wonderful couple and I was very relieved that Zoya had found a home with such a wonderful couple. I will admit that I was worried that they were taking Zoya to America and Zoya will lose her tehzeeb and mazhub, but when I met Zoya again, I was so proud of her," the mulana touched Zoya's head "I will speak to my begum when she gets back and let you know" said the mulana. "Ji shukriya," said Asad handing the mulana a business card and a cheque for 10 lakh. The mulana was surprised and he looked at Asad and said, "Thank you, but I hope this is not payment for taking care of your begum" smiled the mulana, Asad looked at Zoya and said to the mulana "no, this is for all the other Asad's whose Zoya's you can help in the future. Khuda Hafiz, mulana sahib" smiled Asad. Zoya stopped and asked the mulana sahib, "Mulana sahib, when I came in, did I have anything with me?" asked Zoya. The mulana sahib thought for awhile and said "Yes beti, you had a music egg. You held onto that for dear life you never let go of it." Zoya thanked the mulana and walked to where Asad was standing with Ayaan and Humera. Humera was ecstatic to Zoya and hugged her tightly, "Zoya baaji, I am so glad you are back. We have all missed you so much" Zoya hugged Humera back even more tightly. Zoya did not know why she but she always felt this tug in her heart when she thought of Humera. "Bhai-jaan, I think these ladies when born defective" said Ayaan. Asad knew Ayaan was asking for a beating so he just kept quiet and let Ayaan continue, "They are born with leaking pipes, always crying". Asad tried to contain his laughter. Zoya and Humera gave Ayaan the deadliest stare ever. Ayaan gulped and said "Bhai-jaan, I think we should go home. Badi ammi said that she was going to prepare a big lunch today before we start rosa" said Ayaan knowing that would take the attention away from him. "Kya!" exclaimed Zoya. "This ammi be na. Asad please let's go home now. I swear today ammi is in trouble. She is just got better and now she wants to cook" ranted Zoya. Asad just listened as Zoya's rant went on and on. They all sat in the 4x4 and Zoya was still going on and on until they reached home. Zoya was still going on and on even after she entered the house and saw Dilshaad at the stove and Najma setting the table. Asad, Ayaan and Humera just walked behind Zoya. Dilshaad looked at Zoya's fuming face and then at Ayaan's guilty face "Ya Allah Ayaan, how are you going to keep rosa when you couldn't keep this on your stomach" said Dilshaad hitting her forehead. "Sorry badi ammi" said Ayaan cutely but "I was just so hungry". "Ammi" said Zoya "You are still getting better, why are you not resting. I was going to come and cook" said Zoya really upset. Dilshaad knew Zoya was upset; she walked to Zoya and touched her cheek. Zoya began pouting, Asad shook his head, at his wife, such a drama queen. "Meri pyaari bahu, I am fine. If I stayed cooped up in my room any more, I would just die" said Dilshaad. Asad shook his head, my mother the drama queen's queen. "Zoya beti, today is chand raat and it is your first rosa here, so I wanted it be special. Please don't be angry" said Dilshaad and then hugged Zoya. Zoya smiled and said "Okay, that fine. Now go rest. We will do everything else." Dilshaad knew she got off easily from Zoya's wrath and quietly smiled making her way up to her room. Humera kissed Dilshaad and helped her up to her room.
Zoya went to Aakeer who was in his baby chair and picked him up, "Did you miss ammi baby boy" and she kissed him. Ayaan made faces, and Asad smacked his head. Najma served Ayaan and Asad snacks. Humera after chatting to Dilshaad for awhile came back to join them at the table. Zoya had Aakeer on her lap and was playing with him whilst she ate. Asad at that point looked around the table and was content, he was happy. His family was here. Tanveer walked in at that point and looked at the table. Oh happy Family, she thought not for long., she gave the table a disgusted look. She saw Humera at the table and decided why not ruin this happy scene, she knew exactly who to call. Tanveer smiled at went up to her room. "Zoya, are you done with your packing" asked Asad casually. The table was silenced immediately all eyes were on Asad. Zoya noticed everyone looking at Asad with such a confused look; she decided to play along "Ji, Mr Khan. I am ready to move. After all I am you kaneez that you can use and leave at your disposal Zilah ilahai" Said Zoya innocently. Asad was confused. WTH !!. Ayaan, Humera and Najma were shocked and just watched the exchange. Asad looked at Zoya and then and the 3 shocked faces staring him back. Stupid Girl, thought Asad. "Zoya, are your bags packed to move into OUR room" Asad almost laughed when heard everyone breath again. Zoya burst out laughing and her laugh was so infectious everyone started laughing along with her. Tanveer could hear the laughter upstairs and off course she couldn't let that continue. She dialled a number and waited for the person to answer on the other end to answer. Zoya got up and handed Aakeer to Asad "Baby boy, let ammi go move into abbu's room before he really kicks her out." Asad held Zoya's hand as she began to walk away, "Our room Mrs Khan, our room" whispered Asad. Zoya blushed and left the room. Humera helped Najma clear the table and do the dishes whilst the men moved to the living room. Humera then went to help Zoya move whilst Najma served Asad and Ayaan coffee and gave Aakeer a bottle of juice. Najma was only too happy to help Zoya move.
Meanwhile is Tanveer's room, "Salaam bi. How are you doing?" asked Tanveer smirking. "What do you want Billo Rani, I have no time for your nonsense" said the voice on the other end of the line. "Kya, bi, here I am calling you compliment on your big heart and you are insulting me" said Tanveer pretending to be hurt, "You have such a big heart that you are allowing the 2 step sisters to bond" continued Tanveer sweetly, the person on the other end said "I don't have no time for your nonsense" and the person cut the call. Tanveer was furious how dare she, you just wait. I will put you all in your place once I am Mrs Asad Ahmed Khan. Meanwhile downstairs, Najma and Zoya was helping Zoya unpack in Asad's room. Najma knew her brother's OCD-ness so she offered to pack Zoya's clothes in the closet. The girls chatted away. Humera saw Zoya's music box and was really surprised. She picked up the music box and opened it and the sweet melody that comforted her filled the air. Humera and Zoya were smiling, "Baaji, I have one exactly like this. My abbu gave it to me on my engagement" said Humera smiling and then frowned alittle "I guess he was wrong" continued Humera. Zoya looked at Humera, "Wrong about what Humera" asked Zoya still folding her clothes. Humera smiled "My abbu said that this is one of kind and he made this specially for his daughter". Humera recalled that loving conversation she had with her abbu, "My abbu actually said that he had 2 made, I guess this the second one. It is exactly like mine" said Humera happily. Zoya was shocked she looked at Humera who had the same happy expression she always had. Zoya thought her abbu had given her this, this the only memory she has of him. "Baaji, who gave you this" asked Humera excitedly. "My abbu" said Zoya softly. "Baaji, my abbu must know your abbu that is the only way we could both have the only two music box ever made". Zoya smiled sadly, Zoya being the know it all she is she had done all the research and she knew her music box was one of a kind. Could this be true thought Zoya, could Siddique Sahib be a connection to her abbu.
Meanwhile Tanveer was still fuming and made her way downstairs. Asad saw her coming down and made an excuse to leave; he didn't want to be in the same room as her. Ayaan was playing with Aakeer. Asad get some water. Ayaan ignored Tanveer as she sat down next to Aakeer playing the sweet mother. Ayaan kissed Aakeer bye, and said Asad they should leave as they had to get ready for chand raat. Ayaan got Humera and went upstairs to say goodbye to Dilshaad. When they came back down, Zoya and Najma had joined them in the living room. "Allah Hafiz, bhabhi jaan" winked Ayaan to Zoya. Asad just smacked him up the head. Everyone laughed. "Allah Hafiz, and chand raat Mubarak, I wish you and Asad bhai jaan all the happiness" said Humera sweetly, Humera went closer to Zoya "enjoy your new room baaji". Zoya and Asad blushed. This did not go unnoticed by Tanveer. What the hell is going on, new room thought Tanveer, what is she missing. Zoya and Najma went to get ready for the sighting of the man. Tanveer took Aakeer upstairs, but didn't miss Zoya going into Asad's room. Did Zoya move into Asad's room? Tanveer was shocked. She had to find out.
The family was all dressed and was trying to spot the moon in the back yard. Tanveer brought Aakeer to the backyard and handed him to Asad. This was a perfect chance for her to see if Zoya had moved into Asad's room. Tanveer left her phone on the table and left hurriedly to investigate. Meanwhile, whilst the family was bonding, Tanveer was in Asad's room. She got the biggest shock of her life. What the hell is happening? Why is Zoya moved into Asad's room? Everything was going her way. Asad has accepted Aakeer has his heir and she came with Aakeer, she signed papers confirming her share in Asad's estate. Tanveer was really pissed off now. She began searching the room and found the papers she signed in Asad's closet. She re-read the papers and was shocked. All the papers fell from her hand. Asad had fooled her. Asad and Zoya were Aakeer's legal parents now. They adopted him. Tanveer was beyond furious now. She picked up the papers, as she was putting them back she noticed a clause in red, as Tanveer red the legal clause, she could hear all her dreams break. It stated that Tanveer gives up every right to Aakeer and will make no claim in his estate. Tanveer could see red only. How could this happen? She worked so hard, so many plans she many crimes. Tanveer wanted to kill Zoya now.
Meanwhile outside, Tanveer's phone rang. Asad was closest to the phone. He read the caller ID and it said "Bi". Asad answered the phone, before he could say anything the voice on the other end started talking "Billo Rani, you thought you would instigate me against my daughter. You finished with ruining that family lives now you want to start with mine. I will never let you do that. You only entered this game now. I am master at this don't you dare mess with me, I will ruin you. You called me tell me that Humera was there bonding with her step sister. As long as I am alive, Zoya and Humera will never know they are sisters, leave Humera do you think I would let Zoya know that my husband is her father. I worked very hard to block all her investigation what makes you think I will let her find out now. I helped you trick Asad on his wedding night, that bechara thought he slept with you, you tricked him into believing that I helped you. You conniving little witch, you thought you would blackmail me. I am Raziya Siddique, you better not cross my path. I will ruin you. You understand" and with that the call was cut.
Asad was shocked. Zoya was Gaffar Siddique's daughter. Suddenly the world began to close in on Asad, he rembered what the mulana and humera said today, everything was brginning to fit like a puzzle, about Siddiqe sahib being their biggest sponsor after Zoya got adopted. The mulana also said that a woman brought Zoya to the madressa, could that have been Razia. Where was Zoya's ammi? He was drowning. Then he heard Zoya's voice, "Look Asad the moon, Chand raat Mubarak" and Zoya hugged him. Asad came back to present when he felt Zoya's hand around him. He looked up and saw Tanveer looking at them with anger. Asad wanted to kill Tanveer after everything he heard. She knew who Zoya's abbu was after everything she had done she was still standing in front of him. He took that as an insult to his man hood. The holy month has started and the first thing he has to do is cleanse his home of all evil..Starting with Tanveer.
