BV has many character which are real and unreal.

I will take up only some of them.

Ganga is a real character as far as her problems with raten are concerned. Ganga at the haveli has become unreal.

Ratan is one of the most real character.

Anandi is the most unreal character. We cant find anandi in the real world.

Haveli people have both real and unreal traits in them.

Gauri is real.

Shiv is real.

Jagya is both real and unreal.

Ira is real.

Basant and dadisa have this rustic charm while Bhairon is the coolest one along with Shiv.

I do think Anandi's character is as realistic as any other character in the show.

We do come across people like her in real world too.

She is just somebody who tries to do what she thinks is right and help people introuble if she thinks she is in a position to do something for them.

She also loves her family a lot and if she has to go against them she sheds buckets of tears for having to go against them because it hurts her.Example: she went against Basant and Gehna in Panchayat but she cried a lot because she is hurting the feelings of her family members.

She loves her family like any other person and likes to see them happy because seeing them happy makes her happy.

But she does goof up at times in her intention to help people and do the right thing.

Just like everybody she has her own ways of dealing with negativity she comes across.

She doesn't hold grudges against anybody who has harmed her and I don't think it is an unrealistic either. It is her way getting on with life and lessen unhappiness in her life by trying not to think of those people who hurt her.It is a simple enough logic why think of all those people and get your mood spoiled by entertaining those kind of thoughts?

Instead of sitting and cribbing about all the things that have happened and blaming the circumstances she just concentrated on making something out of her life which is not really a noble thing but a practical way of living. It is about posessing survival skills.

Gauri instead of focusing on all the good things that have happened in life and feel happy about them she only thinks of all the bad things that have happened long time back and gets swallowed by all that negativity and makes life unbearable for herself and others around her.She does not have survival skills.

In no way do I find her character as unrealistic. Anandi is as realistic as Gauri is.

Anandi is too perfect and thats why I call her unreal. It does not mean I dont like her. I like her, I sympathise with her and wish her well.

I never thought of Anandi or for that matter Shiv as perfect. they are above average human beings I just see them striving for perfection like every one else and it is just that their success rate is a little higher than that of average individuals.

Cant compare Shiv and anandi. Shiv is is not portrayed as perfect, sacrificing, tolerating nonsense endlessly, not thinking of himself etc. Shiv is a very normal person. There are so many shivs around us.And shiv is not extraordinary by any means but a very likeable person.

Of course their background is different. The amount of suffering is different.

Shiv was also shown as someone who works hard to earn that person's trust and love in this case Anandi's trust and love.He also took a lot of nonsense from Singhs and Jagya esp.
He is now shown to have forgotten all that Jagya did to him and ready to get his sister married off to him.

About Anandi - I don't think she took nonsense. In fact I think it is Gauri who took a lot of nonsense than Anandi.

Gauri is the one who took a lot of nonsense from life especially Jagya.Agreed that it is not her fault that she fell in love with Jagya she did not know that he is married and was cheating her and his wife.
But she went ahead and married him despite knowing that he lied to her.How did she take that nonsense from Jagya?A person who could leave his wife for her is very well capable of leaving her for someone else. And in the end he did leave Gauri for someone else.Is it not tolerating nonsense?

When she realised her marriage was not legal she should have given ultimatum to Jagya to get things sorted out before coming back to her and walked out.Instead she chose to live with him even when he is not interested in getting their staus legalised. Was it not all about tolerating nonsense?

Anandi believed that Jagya was wrong on waliking out on her and living with an other woman. She never took him back in her life. She found difficult to move on in life because she loved him a lot just like Ganga loves him now.Despite loving him so much she never wanted him back in her life because that amouts to tolerating nonsense.

As for tolerating DS and her nonsense. She stood up to DS when she thought DS was wrong.
Negativity there are many ways of dealing with it
Ganga suffered a lot too.But she kind of insulated herself against all the evilness of Rat and family so that their evilness did not affect her mind or process of thinking. She always believed that there is goodness left in the world and she found the goodness with Singhs.

Gauri also must have suffered a lot as a child with parents who are as screwed up as they are.
She let her mind be spoiled by her parents and learnt to look at the world in a twisted way.
Anandi also suffered because of her parents who sent off to live with DS then DS herself and later on because of Jagya. But for the sake of her well being she only learnt to carry the good things forward.
I think Anandi and Ganga are more practical than Gauri is.It is more about learning to find happiness in life no matter what it handles. It is all about practicality and pragmatism rather than being idealistic.
Gauri doesn't know how to find happiness.Gauri is totally impractical so is Sanchi so they make a mess of their lives.

What I am tryinmg to say is that we find some characters in real life easily. It is not about good or bad or practical or impractical. There are many gauris around who are educated but dont have sense and sensibility.

Anandi is somewhat extraordinary. Nothing affects her easily. Ira's harshness does not affect her. Ira's unjust attitude does not affect her. It simply is not possible. Gauri's rantings did not affect her that much. It may affect her but she does not show it. Like she said to sanchi, I have tolerated all your meanness but i wont take it if you say anything against my father. Slowly ganga is turning into another anandi.

Now you said it .She may be rare but not unreal.

She is as real as Gauri or Jagya. It is just that the personalities like that of Gauri and Sanchi announce themselves to the world.

Anandis of the world are difficult to find because they don't go around wearing a badge and most of the time their goodness is not believed and is often made mockery of and they are categorised as fake by the cynics of the world.

Goodness does not announce itself it has to be found by others.
