Wonderfully written though I wonder if Arnav missed the irony in what Khushi said in the relief of having been forgiven?
She had felt like Cinderella? So for that one evening she was the princess, dressed to the nines, centre of everyones attention and once the clock struck twelve (or rather Arnav struck) she was back to her regular (painful? drudgery?) existence? Arnav not a very happy state for your wife to be.
