A beautiful discussion topic wafah!
How do you envision your partner in life to be? What do you prefer the most? Eyes? Smile? Personality?
When I first imagine my life partner I glorify my imaginations with physical appearances..but on second thought, I could never live with a plastic doll, so I would prefer personality the most...I can live with man who may not be good looking, but I can't live with a man whose ideologies differ from mine...I don't need to drown into gorgeous eyes, I need to be able to see trust and faithfulness, My heart need not skip a beat when I see someone, but it needs to feel secure...
How do you envision your perfect wedding? Something small, and personal shared with only family members & friends? Something elaborate & grand? Do you just prefer to elope?
My perfect wedding would comprise of my groom, all my family members, friends and everyone I care for...It doesn't need to be elaborate to be grand although I do desire a wedding on the beach...A beach because I think it would be a naturally beautiful and peaceful place to be wedded at...But then again it depends also on the likings of my life partner, but no I wouldn't elope...marriage is something that should be done with pride for me...
Those who are already married, what was your marriage like? Was it as you'd pictured it to be? Maybe more?
Still single...
In one sentence how would you describe love? The
institution of marriage? Love to me has infinite words to describe but difficult to explain...It's a feeling that you feel, a joy that you cherish...Love is a connection between two people not necessarily eros,it could be love that you have for your parents, relatives and friends...Love are thoughts of the well being of someone else, love is the emotion that empathizes and sympathizes in sorrow, love is the joy that joins happiness together..
If love is a heart connection then marriage to me is a ritualistic and formal announcement of a marriage...Marriage are vows of togetherness, trust and support throughout life... Whereas love is between two hearts, Marriage connects families together as well...Marriage is a commitment that two people take...
What do you think is most important components of marriages, that keep it alive, and truly forever? To me trust and understanding keep a marriage alive, love on it's own cannot support a marriage...Trust enables each partner to be able to express freely of their sorrows and joys, and freedom to the other partner...Understanding helps each partner communicate and listen to one another...Love never dies, but a relationship can...that is why even though two people are in love they could end up in a divorce because of the lack of these two and many other components...
Keep smiling...
Love
