"Do what..?!"Meera asked confused,now pouting her lips.

And Prithvi nearly groaned aloud in frustration,as his body leapt with joy at seeing her seductive pouty lips,which seemed to be screaming at his ears to be kissed.

"What you are doing!Please stop it?!"Prithvi said in a hoarse voice,closing his eyes in frustration,trying his best to control his raging emotions.

"What AM I doing?!!Stop What?!"Meera asked in more confusion,and chewing her lips once again.

God!This is the end of me,for sure!!!Prithvi thought taking in a staggering breath,as he saw her white teeth torturing her soft lower lip again.

"Nothing.."He managed to mutter,in a choked voice.

CHAPTER-36.

Slowly Prithvi lowered his lips towards hers,when he felt her sigh out as if in satisfaction and her hands round her neck pulled him closer..With a satisfied smile Prithvi's lips got closer to hers..

"Water!Prithvi bhaiya,water!"A small voice called out from the next door room,making them both move apart.

"Kanhaiya!"Both Prithvi and Meera exclaimed out together..

Amazed Prithvi stared down at Meera,who was now lying half on his lap and half on the bed,as she had removed her hand from around his neck.

"Did you say Kanhaiya,too?!"Prithvi asked in confusion and Meera tried to nod her head from her uncomfortable position,but could barely manage it..That was when Meera saw the slight twitch of a smile on Prithvi's lips..

Realising he was again amused on her behalf,she instantly tried to get up by herself without touching him..But the attempt resulted in her falling flat on her back in the same position once again.

This time Prithvi smiled completely,and was about to lend a helping hand,when she again pushed him away..

"Meera..This is not the time to be stubborn.."Prithvi said impatiently with a long sigh..And before she could push him away again he placed one hand round her waist and one hand below her knees,and gently but quickly raised her from her abnormal lying position and placed her back ,sitting on the bed.Meera stared at him angrily and was about to open her mouth for a long tirade again,when they heard the low child voice again.

"Prithvi bhaiya!"

"I'm coming Kanhaiya!"Prithvi answered quickly,worried least the child got up from his sick bed,at his delay,and without a backwards look at Meera he quickly got out of the room,and into the darkened hallroom..

Prithvi had reached the kitchen to take a bottle of water,when he realized,Kanhaiya's room must be in darkness too..And since he was used to the house by now,he did not have any problem in moving in the darkened house,but the little kid might be really scared..Quickly he opened the cupboard where he had kept spare candles for emergencies like tonight's and lighted one.And he was just turning to take out a candle stand from another cupboard when he bumped into a soft body,and was just just in time to catch her before she lost her balance and fell down..

"Now,what are you doing here,in the kitchen?!"Asked Prithvi in an exasperated voice,as the beauty stared up at him with wide embarrassed eyes..Her flawless skin,glowing beautifully in the candlelight..

"Ummm..I could not see my way in the dark,and followed you to here..I..I thought you were going to Kanhaiya's room.."She murmured in an embarrassed voice looking away..

Prithvi was shocked to say the least..

The beauty is embarrassed?!!Wow!Now that is something new!!!He thought incredulously,when he noticed she looked up at him with a frown..

Oops!Not mind reading again!He thought.

Prithvi let go of her,and walked past her to take out the candlestand,he was about to take out,before he bumped into her,when he remembered something..

"By the way..If you could not see in the dark,why didn't you take the lighted candle from my room,and then look for Kanhaiya's room?"Prithvi asked her casually as he fixed the candle in the candlestand..

"Oh!I..Ummm..It..It escaped my mind..And I thought since you are going to Kanhaiya's room,that following you would be easier..After all that's why I came to this God forsaken haweli,at this time of night.To see Kanhaiya,as he is ill..."She muttered in an irritated voice..

So that's why she came here,tonight?!Thought Prithvi,as understanding finally dawned...

"God forsaken Haweli?Hmmm..Why God forsaken?What did the poor Haweli do to you?"Prithvi asked her with a teasing smile turning to face her.

"Why not?Every time I come here,something or the other happens.."She drifted away,her face coloring with embarrassment again,and Prithvi's smile faded and he suddenly felt hot and uncomfortable again at the reminder of the TIMES she had come here..His betrayer body once again reacting to her closeness to him in the cozy candlelit atmosphere of the kitchen.His hand started moving up of its own accord,to touch her face..He wanted to take a good look of that blushing beautiful face again..His hand was just an inch from her face,when they were interrupted by Kanhaiya's voice again..

"Prithvi bhaiya!"

"Ok,let's go!"Prithvi said quickly grabbing the water bottle in one hand,and the candle in the other,while Meera quietly followed him to the kid's room..

"Meera didi?What did the princess do then?"Asked little Kanhaiya,looking up at Meera who was sitting by him on the bed,tenderly caressing the kid's hair..

Prithvi sat on a nearby chair,faking at reading a book in the light of the candle beside him,as he surreptitiously glanced at Meera once again,by lowering his book a little,also impatient for her to continue with the fairy tale which had captivated him too,along with Kanhaiya.

"When the princess was standing all alone,surrounded by the monsters,who were ready to eat her any moment,she got really scared."Meera said dramatically lowering her voice to create an effect.

"All around her were those huge,ugly monsters,with huge fangs,and blood shot red eyes,coming closer and closer..The princess thought WHAT SHOULD I DO?HOW DO I ESCAPE THEM?Thinking this she turned to her right where she saw a small gap,between two monsters."Saying this Meera stopped to take a drink of water,unaware that not one,but two pairs of male eyes were looking at her impatiently,for continuation of the story..

"And just as the princess was about to run,a monster shot out its hand to grab her!And.."She stopped again to dramatise her effect.

"And what Meera didi?Did the monster eat the princess?"Asked a scared Kanhaiya,already half hiding beneath the blanket.

"And just when the monster was about to grab her,out of nowhere came,a tall and handsome prince riding on a black beautiful horse.The prince instantly grabbed the princess by her waist and raised her onto the horseback,placing in front of him,safe within his arms,and instantly rode away towards safety,while the ugly monsters stood dumbstruck.."Meera finished with a smile at the kid.Unaware once again that not one but two male occupants of the room heaved a sigh of relief,at the princess being saved finally.

"Then what happened?"Asked Kanhaiya with an angelic grin.

"Then the rest of the story tomorrow!Now go to sleep!Or else didi won't tell you stories anymore!"She warned direly,making the child close his eyes to go to sleep..

She is going to make a wonderful mother..Thought Prithvi staring at her beautiful profile,from behind his book..

Finally when the child was asleep,Meera followed Prithvi out of the room,quietly so as not to wake the sleeping child.

Reaching the hallroom,Prithvi turned to face her..

"I..I need to get going..It's-"

THUD!CRASH!

The sudden sound of breaking glass,made her stop in mid sentence,and Prithvi ran to the broken hall window,just in time to see a man running away..

Prithvi found a large rock lying on the ground,beside the broken glass pieces,which might have been thrown to break the window,and it was wrapped with a paper..Carefully Prithvi opened the crinkled paper,and brought it near candle light to see what was written..

GET OUT OF THE HAWELI..GET OUT OF BARAHGAON,IF YOU WANT TO LIVE AND LOVE YOUR LIFE!!!

Was the dirty scroll on the crinkled paper...

Romance, drama and suspense!!Great going Tehsina!! Keep up that creative outflow.. I have a feeling that this is going to be a big, juicy and interesting plot covering many, many chapters... Can't wait!! :)
