Yes indeed, but only when Cvs decide to employ...for example, remember VC-LN patch up done by Dukhba? Well, her entire script (suddenly less loud and more judicious) reminds one only how Book's Guniyal was tackling one crisis after another on domestic front. And she was never OTT there. Quiet and discreet always.
As for your question, yes Dukh baa is an unalloyed SLB construct. She and Danny. As told here earlier, Both were cursory mentions in book. Dukhba little more, along with Sahas rai and Kumari, again 'a crisis' solved by Guniyal and Maan Chatur...but she was gone even before engagement. LN- DB never even knew each other...
Obviously whole construct, along with Saraswati's suicide- even name changed from original 'Chandra Laxmi', is purely devised to make Lead character much more palatable than in its original form. And it's a clever adaptation. It is working. Personally Serial's SC is much more amenable than Book...'Saras' too is a good innovation.
As for full power of 'Chandrakant', we will soon see it 'unleashed' first as Gumaan's unravelling by both- flashing Sunny debunking the ruse and 'Bharat' Danny disowning her straight, and than, they would track him down for distraught LN.
