It all started with SRGM when one of the contestant got maximum votes from Assam and since then there is always a question abt Assam ki Janta voting for their regional candidate.

In a recent show "Zee Cinestart ki Khoj " one of the judge Pooja Bhatt commented to a contestant from Assam -Jaise Assam ke log tumhe vote kar rahe hai kaash baaki states ki janta bhi aise hi vote kare-(something along these lines not exact quote).

In the last episode when this Contestant "Piku" was eliminated she said "Main Bharat Ki Janta Ka Dhanyavad Karti hoon aur Main Assam Ki Janta Ka Dhanyavad Karti hoon"

Why are we trying to divide India in regions?

If we say Bharat ki janta does it not include Assam?

(here i understand that she is from that region and she wanted to say thanx to her people so instead of saying Bharat aur Assam ki janta ...she should have said Bharat especially Assam ki janta).

I think we read too much in such statements, I dont see anything wrong in that statement. And ofcourse I don't think she does not consider Assam a part of India. Assamese people (or NE people for that matter) on the whole do consider themselves Indians (except few people here and there) but sadly people from other parts always suspect them...and make fun of them bec'se they do not "look" Indian.

well the people in Assam have to decide if they belong to India..... as a land it is a part of India..... also the government has to decide this as to the development projects.......

It is a general statement that the estern states are neglected by rest of India, then it may be for the singers, sports or development.... However every state has this complaints.... south indian states dont want to consider hindi as national laguage..... they also dont consider them to be indians.......

It has been a trend to become Indian only for benefits in India otherwise people love to be regionalised...... i dont see this changing unless their mentality is changed

Taran bhai, nice to see you dear!!!!! 😛 - Did u decide not to visit SRGMP Section and only debate section? 😕 😆

Thats what my whole point is ....why we get mad at one statement and support the other when they mean the same

It is the problem with the mindset of Indian citizenery, no point blaming the politicans or Zee TV, they are just exploiting it

Yes, while we still control it, we should stop Zee from using it as a money making factor, they made a lot of money off of Debo and Sanchita on this, I think the two hardly got anything out of it

I don't think she meant to say the same thing as the lady on C2005. Maybe her phrase could have used the word "especially", but I doubt that she had any intention to propagate regionalism.

Right snaky you are on the dot and besides.... somebody misinterpreted that "Assam ki voice and India ki voice" thing..as "Assam not being part of india?" rather than "regional v/s more national support" we are wasting time on this thread.. pointless and should be closed...
