This is what happens when parents marry off daughters by merely looking at the family and not scrutinising the boy with whom their daughter is supposed to spend the life!

VC thought it was a powerful, izzatdaar, wealthy, status wali family and if father liked his daughter so much then whole family would accept her too!

I suspect even the other woman (who brought Saras in her car) would turn out to be negative towards Kumud.

VC did give Kumud a chance to think it over even at last moment but Kumud did not relent. I wonder if it was realy for her bapu's izzat or a backlash for Saras rejecting her and leaving her in the lurch again.

VC made same mistake in both cases. He thought daughter would be happy in the respective family by just looking at their partriarchs who were his friends/colleagues! He never bothered about the rest of the family or the boys themselves!

Honestly this story would have made more sense had it kept in that period in which it was written. In today's times, the behaviour of characters doesn't make much sense.

Agree with u. Such logic in this period surely sound ridiculous.
Who marry their daughter within 24 hrs just for reputation? N Desai didn't even see the face of the dulha!! N never thought a minute why were these ppl so desperate to marry off their son!!
Kumud I know was wrong too but she was not in a tiny frame of mind but the parents supported that hasty decision n this is just so wrong!!
Now I hope they don't show us Kumud forcing Saras to marry her sister n she stayed a widow all life if dver that Pramad will die like in the novel.
But I feel that this wud b the twist. Saras n Kumud will reunite!!

exactly ... this was playing in my mind after watching the episode... I was so happy after the emotionally and tension filled week...the reason was simple..Pramad is a negative character... Yes poor kumud 😭 knowing her I know she'll try to change him. Remember her talks with Kussum once abt likes n dislikes of hubby n how to win his heart??
But fortunately for us n unfortunately for Kumud Pramad will not change!!
