Chapter 8

Uday was perturbed about his outburst on Arthi. He was angry with himself for talking to her so rudely . He couldn't believe that he actually told that he'd "slap" her if she didn't stop questioning him.

"What's happened to you?", he asked himself while standing in front of the bathroom mirror.

"No!!!!!! This can't go on ... I have to get my priorities straight - and my "priorities" DO NOT include Maya. She was a FANTASY which became a REALITY , but now , I got what I wanted , I had my fun ... THE AFFAIR MUST STOP! My wife and daughter come first , THEY ARE MY FAMILY ... and I can't cheat my family anymore!", Uday decided.

He straight away descended the stairs and pulled Arthi into a hug. She resisted at first , but sensing the tension in his body , she hugged him back. "Uday - what's the matter?"

"I'm sorry Arthi ... I shouldn't have shouted at you. We shouldn't have fought. It's just that ... just that ... work , work has become really stressful and I took out that frustration on you!" , he lied.

She pinched his nose and laughed at him : "Uday , I knew that you must've been tensed over something at work , because MY HUSBAND would never raise his voice against me!" He smiled meekly at her. "That means we're cool", he enquired. She smiled broadly and nodded.

"Dinner pe chale?" , she suddenly asked.

Uday : "Huh ... HAAN , okay"

"phir movie?" , she asked again.

"Sure Mrs Singh ... anything for you!", Uday agreed to the date , happy that he was forgiven ... but something VERY IMPORTANT had to be done as soon as possible ...

'Uday I think we need to postpone our date tonight' said Arthi and she sounded worried.

'What happened Love?', Uday asked... ' Did the babysitter say she won't come tonight?'

'No, it's just Tani is not well. Running nose, sneezing and all the signs of cold. I need to be with her tonight, you know how cranky she gets when she is sick, so shall we postpone for tomorrow night?' she asks expectantly.

Uday pulls her close to his chest and kisses her forehead 'anything for you arthi. You are the best thing that ever happened to me'

And then he began to think how to get rid of the "OTHER" best thing that ever happened to him

Uday called Maya in the morning from his office 'Maya, I need to meet you today, what time will your shift be over?'

'At 2, uday, why? Cant you wait till then or should I come your office', asked a teasing Maya.

'I will meet you at 2, I need to talk to you '

'So do I! It's days since we "know" each other and yet we don't know anything about each other ... maybe nothing!'.' She said with a double meaning

Uday : 'I know what you mean.. I will see you at 2 then, bye Maya'

'Bye sweetheart, missing you' she said seductively

'Bye' he said dryly

It was then , that Jainandini entered his cabin, walking and flashing her assets.

'Sir you have a meeting in 10 minutes! Sir, can I ask you something?', she said looking at him from under her eyelashes

Uday : 'ya, what is it?'

J : 'sir, does this dress suit me, I mean see over here, 'she points to her upper portion of her torso.

Uday clearly got irritated, he snapped: 'just get of here this very minute, I have my own f**king troubles to sort out! OUT, OUT - I SAID GET OUT!!! THIS VERY MOMENT'

He wanted to throw everything that was in front of him that very moment. He was angry, no he was mad., HELL HE WAS FURIOUS! He was trying to set his life back in order, and here she was trying to seduce him. He already have his pockets full with this Maya business and now his secretary is trying HER luck' YUCK!!!

Uday drove his car to the florist shop... Yes - the moment had come! As long as he wants his family first, he needed to get this relation; stopped. He kept thinking about how he would break this news to her...

'Maya, we need to stop this relationship, I just can't do this any longer' ... na, that was too blunt... how about something mild like 'Maya, there is something I wanted to tell you, its about us ...'

No. that's not good too'oh maybe he should say what comes to his mind then and there'

Entering the florist shop he went and stood in front of the counter

'There you are, always on time' ,said an excited maya

'ummm' ,mumbled Uday and he managed to give a small smile.

'Wait, let me get my purse and we are good to go' ,she said

After grabbing her purse she walked next to him, the shop was empty and she took this opportunity to kiss him.

At first he resisted ;thinking it had to stop, but having her close to his body, inhaling her heavenly smell and feeling her body heat, he forgot his decision, he too pulled her to him, no space left between them. He kissed her deeply'

After their kiss Maya said: 'Uday you seriously must have missed me, that kiss was too intense'

'I missed you baby, I missed you and ... I love you' said uday

M : So lets go, you needed to talk na ...

'yes - maybe that could wait' he said suggestively as he tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

M: 'Na, lets talk,,, we need to know more about each other for this relation to move forward na'

U : ok, get into the car, lets go somewhere

As he drove away from there with Maya by his side, he forgot his promise of breaking up with her, he COULDN'T do it. He wanted her in his life & he wanted Arthi too. But Maya made him feel DIFFERENT ... SPECIAL and he was now realising that he LOVED her, loved her body and her soul ... 'he wanted her ; he could not leave her ... HE WOULDN'T LEAVE HER!'

He took her hand in his and squeezed it and said ' I really love you Maya'

'oh, Uday. I just love going out like this, it reminds me of the time before our marriage when we used to go out and chill. '

U : ya me too ; Arthi

M : uday, see red roses, let me go buy a bunch

U : ok, I will wait for you here

He stood there looking around, crowds of unfamiliar faces went past him. 'Man , what a day!!!' he thought

'Uday' called a familiar voice.. he was beyond shocked

It was Maya. 'Hi Uday, what are you doing here?'

'Ehhh' , he did not know what to say when suddenly Arthi came over there and told : 'don't they look beautiful Uday, it would look good in our room!' She noticed Maya standing next to Uday and asked : 'Who is she Uday??' a smile still on her face

'This.. this is Maya ... a friend of mine' , he said softly

'Hi maya, good to meet you. I'm Arthi ... Uday's wife.'
