Ratan: Star Plus' most realistic woman

I'm tiref of Star Plus portraying every woman as perfect who could do no wrong. We could see women like Sandhya and Akshara who are the most perfect women. I think Ratan is the most relateable woman in Star Plus. She's not perfect and that's what I like about her. Can you blame her for not accepting Veera? My mom said she would do the same if she were jn Ratan's position. Often we feel sorry for women in forced marriages and while we expect them to fulfill all of the wifely duties such as cooking and cleaning it would be a big deal if someone says she should sleep with her husband when she says she cannot love the man. Likewise, Ratan is providing for Veera and fulfilling her motherlt duties but she cannot provide the motherly love.

I'm tired of hearing how perfect some of the Star Plus women are. No one is realistically that perfect. Ratan is one womanwith realistic feelings that we can all relate to.

Yes I find women like Sandhya totally unrealistic! She is a freakin saint! (I don't even watch that show, but I know the gist of it). The same applies to Gopi Bahu as well. Even Akshara is a bit too good! The other SP "saint Bahu" is Pankuri! They are just too "Mahan" for their own good!!

I like Kumud of Saraswatichandra as she is not a perfect angle! The same applies for Ratan! Even Gurpreet has been shown to be realistic coz she left Kartar!

Ratan didn't forgive Sampooran right away and to this day she struggles with accepting his child with another women. She is a normal women not a plaster Saint!! It is great to see this! SP has finally come of age with less than perfect leading ladies gracing the folds of the "plaster saints"!!

The funny part is that shows like DABH, YRKKH, and SNS are the longest running shows (Pratigya also was also a long running show with a saintly bahu). I think a lot of women look up to them. Maybe it brings TRPs?

as comparisons arent allowed in IF, im just going to say Ratan is one woman on SP that although lives in a village, is completely a contemporary woman from the mind. (except the unfair attitude to veera). she doesnt take anyones crap, she has no shying away from men and is an independent woman who is capable of taking care of her kids.

this is the one show where the woman is not a self sacrificing doormat. also the only show where real women in real situations are depicted. no one in full makeup and silk or georgette or zari sarees cooking in a kitchen.

I agree with you for most part, you are right Ratan is a women in sp whom we could all relate to.

Agree..👍🏼..she is not shown as Mahaan...n she is projected as a real woman..she needs to change her POV..if she can forgive Sampooran..then she can forgive veera too..because..veera is not at fault..in all dis...she needs to snap out from sampooran's jhap...to accept veera.
