Discussion: Is it fair to compare actors?

We're back with a new Discussion...

Well, we've seen many of you comparing actors and actresses, such as Ash & Vidya and Hrithik & Abhishek, to each other.

Each of us does obviously have a different opinion and his / her own favourite. But what we would like to know in general is:

Can actors / actresses be compared to each other?? Is it fair to compare them??

Agree with u niya.but I think everyone is unique so ye comparison thik nahi hain.

Well I think the bottom line is that actors who are of the same league and have been in the industry the same time can be compared...like I think Abhi and Hrithik can be compared as both are contempory actors...where people like SRK and Shahid cant be compared or Rani and Amrita...

Comparing is an Indian past time. It starts when we are young. Our parents and older relatives find siblings, cousins, friends or anyone they can get their hands on to compare us to.....LOL

We imbibe the same qualities. We cant relate to the world without comparing one person to the other....

On a serious note: I wish we'd stop doing it... I am tired of listening to comparisons between abhi and hrithik, shah rukh and amitabh, rani and aish, etc.

Have you ever heard of robert dinero being compared to sean connery or brad pitt to tom cruise.

Anyway, I know this comparing will not change.
But, I thought I'd give my two cents.

I like abhi, rani, hrithik, amitabh and shah rukh. All of them for different reasons as they are all individuals.

well i think they can be compared cause they are actors but as niya said you cant compare new comers with actors that have been there for a long time 😃

i agree with both niya and ranig...they are all different and make the film their own. Also, everyone has their favourites and i think the way we rate/like actors also affects the success of the film for example if say an unknown actor did kabhie alvida na kehna i dont think it would nowhere near have the same success or if rani was malika sherawat than we just see it as a film about adultery not love etc. 😆 i dont no if all this makes sense...😳😆

I think, to a certain extent, it is human nature to compare, and obviously draw an opinion from these comparisons. What is ridiculous is when a new actress comes on the scene, perform a mind blowing role, or not, but is compared to a star in the industry and say that the newcomer sucked... I mean what kind of a comparison is that?

People also need to understand that in comparing, the diference in the roles, ages, experiences, comparing, Rani, Kajol and Ash is one thing... bringing Vidya Balan into it is another...😊
