Mazher Sayedd was rushed to the hospital on January 4 after he was diagnosed as suffering from an acute case of hepatitis. The telly actor, who features as Sameer in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Samar in Saat Phere, has been advised complete rest till January 21. As a result, he has been missing from both his shows since New Year's Eve.

High fever that refused to subside was a cause of worry for him for days. "I thought that I had the usual viral infection," says Mazher who is now recuperating at home from the jaundice attack.

"I took the necessary medication but the fever refused to go. I felt worse every passing day. Eventually I decided to get a blood test done which proved that I had hepatitis. That's when I realised why my eyes appeared a bit yellowish."

Complete bed rest

The actor spent four days at Sujoy Hospital, Juhu Scheme. "As it had not been detected in the preliminary stages, I needed hospital care," says the actor. "I am much better now but I have been medically advised not to tire myself. "

Mazher further adds that as soon as he was detected as suffering from hepatitis, he immediately informed the show's production house folk. "They were extremely co-operative and asked me to recover completely. As a result I have missing from both shows for over two weeks."

No kidding

Incidentally, during his college days (at Mithibai) Mazher had been struck by a case of hepatitis. "This is the second time I am suffering from jaundice and normally, people get it once and are immune to it." What he finds even more surprising is that the doctors have told him that the kind of hepatitis he is suffering from is what normally affects children! "That means I have not grown up still," he guffaws.

So who were the visitors at the hospital? "Several friends paid a visit, in fact quite a few of my co-actors did not even know about it as everything happened so suddenly."

Was his 'good friend' Moulli Ganguly a visitor at the hospital? "Yes, of course," laughs Mazher, who featured with her in Kahiin Kissi Roz.
