I just came across this interview bit even though I've seen Sanam's photoshoot for Paper Magazine this year. I'm not too sure how I missed this interview..lol..but it's a really nice read and you get to know more about Sanam. She seems like a lovely person..I really hope to see more of her. She once said in one of her television interviews how she could relate to Kashaf's character and that helped her in her performance..I feel this interview helps you understand where that bit came from.

Something that stood out:

when Sanam Saeed started her recent shoot with Paper Magazine:

"I haven't done this for so long. I actually hate being in front of the camera. You see I'm not really a fashionista. Fashion doesn't really get me going. The whole fashion thing was fun while it lasted but the reason why I quit modeling was because for the first time in my life I became very conscious about my looks. I wanted to be skinny. I was contemplating about getting my hairline lasered because everyone criticized my small forehead and so on. I realized it wasn't for me. " - Sanam Saeed

when asked about being dark-skinned in a country where Colonial complex about fair skin has never faded:

"Sometimes I read a script and I love a role but the director wants a Mahirah or an Aiza who's pretty and fair skinned and I'm just like Goddamnit!..if I was fair, I would have this role right now! So I guess with na shakal na surat wali larki roles, I fit right in because I am dark" Sanam Saeed laughs

Never bothered reading, will do at some point if i can get past the photos first, all I see are heels heels and heels *sigh

Edit: I like how she's so self deprecating, seems very jolly about it all in hindsight but doesn't take away from the fact that she's obviously been through a lot due to her appearance, this ridiculous colonial hangover, ask me from a male standpoint I find her smoking hot, ablaze with beautiful skintone.

Wow ! Thats the reason i love sanam saeed so much ! She's such a genuine person! Always speaks her heart out ! Very Honest Very Real Nothing fake ! and Doesn't n mater what she wears, she looks beautiful in every outfit...I love her sooo much. 😳

do read the interview, Naj. 😆...it's great and you discover quite a bit about Sanam. I really enjoyed reading it.

I agree and I feel the same...she seems to have been criticized in the modeling world and somewhere down the line it may have hurt her self esteem. As she mentions, she chose to quit modeling because people criticized her for silly things such as how she she has a small forehead etc..which is just ridiculous. Personally never even noticed her forehead being small or big whatsoever. 😆

This was her first shoot, this year after so long..and I feel she has gained some confidence if not all because she's also endorsing a summer lawn as well this year. And, the creator of the lawn chose her because she felt people could easily relate to Sanam.

Also Sanam seems so down to earth. She laughs off a lot of things about herself and seems to have no ego whatsoever. I find this woman so endearing and I'm so glad ZGH happened to her.

Thank you so much for sharing this interview Star..i haven't come across it before..

What a phenomenal woman Sanam is..seriously..i admire her so much...what i love about her is the fact is that she is so real..there is nothing fake about her..she is what she appears to be...shes simple in her ways and down to earth..i love the fact that despite being a popular actress she still travels using public transport..it just shows that success didnt get to her head...i just love her honesty and her personality..it makes her even more beautiful..i find her extremely beautiful and was shocked to read she has been criticised for her looks...can someone be so low to criticise her because of the colour of her skin? i have seen many beautiful women who are dark skinned..skin colour has nothing to do with anything..its whats inside you that makes you beautiful..a person's heart makes them beautiful and i can say for sure that Sanam is a stunner..the way she carries her self and her smile...her personality..shes just a complete package and i hope that she regains all her confidence..because she is truly wonderful..wishing her all the success and hope all her projects do brilliantly..she deserves it completely...this is for Sanam...👏
