I just came across this interview bit even though I've seen Sanam's photoshoot for Paper Magazine this year. I'm not too sure how I missed this interview..lol..but it's a really nice read and you get to know more about Sanam. She seems like a lovely person..I really hope to see more of her. She once said in one of her television interviews how she could relate to Kashaf's character and that helped her in her performance..I feel this interview helps you understand where that bit came from.

"I haven't done this for so long. I actually hate being in front of the camera. You see I'm not really a fashionista. Fashion doesn't really get me going. The whole fashion thing was fun while it lasted but the reason why I quit modeling was because for the first time in my life I became very conscious about my looks. I wanted to be skinny. I was contemplating about getting my hairline lasered because everyone criticized my small forehead and so on. I realized it wasn't for me. " - Sanam Saeed
when asked about being dark-skinned in a country where Colonial complex about fair skin has never faded:
"Sometimes I read a script and I love a role but the director wants a Mahirah or an Aiza who's pretty and fair skinned and I'm just like Goddamnit!..if I was fair, I would have this role right now! So I guess with na shakal na surat wali larki roles, I fit right in because I am dark" Sanam Saeed laughs
