Akbar was married to ruqaiya already.Its a fact.Its not some masala Ek is putting.Though we do say certain fictitious stories can pe put up,or certain true facts can be omitted.such MAJOR facts cant be just skipped.jalal had many wives.period.

in jodha Akbar film Akbar was not shown married 😕 but here it shown that Akbar was married and its true bcos moughal are allowed more than one wives

In the film, they sidelined this issue and did not touch on it at all. There was no way Ashutosh Gowarikar could have said that Jodha was Jalal's first wife; all the Indian historians would have jumped down his throat. But if he had mentioned that clearly , it would have had some negative impact on his central love story. So he cleverly dodged the whole issue and left it to the audience to imagine whatever they wanted to!😉

Not just the Moghuls, but all Muslims are allowed 4 wives at a time. This is so even today in India under the Muslim personal law, though bigamy is illegal for all other religious groups. But till the anti-bigamy law was passed in 1958, Hindus and the other religious groups too were allowed more than one wife. The Maharajas all had more that a few, and even in our epics, King Dasharata in the Ramayana had 3 wives.

But it was never common among ordinary folk; wives are expensive to maintain😉😉,and then again, as the ration of women to men in any population is roughly 50:50, where would so many extra women come from!😉

Well, Disha, I suppose it is because it is the only Jodha-Akbar story on screen that people are familiar with. But the factual position on the film too is as I have noted above.
