Raajneeti-too many cooks don't spoil the broth.

So recently I've taken to watching all of Ranbir Kapoor' s movies😆(oh sue me) And so ended up watching Raajneeti.

First up the entertainment value. It kept me gripped from the get go. From the illegitimate birth of Sooraj(Ajay Devgan) to the conniving ruthless man Samar(Ranbir Kapoor) becomes, it was an exciting movie.

Surprisingly I enjoyed Katrina's performance in the movie. One of her best, in my opinion. She was very good as Indu. I think she dubbed for herself? That really helped. Her equation with both Ranbir and Arjun was very good.

Coming to Prthiviraj (Arjun Rampal). I love the guy. Who can possibly not like Arjun Rampal?( I feel your need to rebut this😆)

The best part of the movie was his equation with Ranbir. Their on screen chemistry was something I greatly enjoyed. They both have great screen presence. And I really enjoyed their interaction.

On that note I'm looking forward to Roy!

Ajay Devgan also held his own right, as the rough Sooraj. I suppose he was symbolic of Karna from the Mahabarat.

Ranbir was great as the stone hearted, blood thirsty, cold Samar. Definitely praise worthy.

Nana Patekar who played the mentor Brij Gopal is also a worthy mention. I'm guessing he was Krishna in the tale.

As far critically examining the film is concerned. Not really going into politics but the film was very regressive in the sense it showed how women had to sleep their way to the top (someone quick tell me that girl who sleeps with Arjun, she's the one from that Disney show right? )

Also I didn't really enjoy the Sarah bits. It was very out of place. And frankly seemed like she was there only so that Ranbir could make out with her. 😆

Overall a very gripping tale. Apparently there's going to be a sequel .Excellent. I'm looking forward to it.

If you haven't watched, it's definitely worth a watch.

wow its good to know that you liked it😉...seriously i fell asleep...🤣

this movie is mordern version of mahabharat...pandavas v/s kauravas😆

ranbir mainly playing the arjun character...while arjun plays yudhistir and ajay plays karan...with a mix of typical BW masala...samar's family is pandavas

manoj bajpai family plays the kauravas

It was good 😆

I watched it on my comp so I could fast forward the bits that bored me so it's difficult for me to gauge how I would have graded a theater watch. 😆

But over all story tho gripping tha😆

prakash jha gangaajal was excellent for me...i didn't like rajneeti much...but can't wait for satyagraha...the trailers seem good and ajay being the lead...praksha jha-ajay...deadly combination

Me too even I found Arjun and Ranbir's chemistry the best part of the movie . I thought Ajay's role was half baked the second half had some unnecessary twists. Manoj was beyond great he is the best thing in Jha's movies.

Its a good DVD watch but not worth theatre viewing. Some parts like Ajay's background dragged too much 🥱

i don't know abt that...even i am wondering on that aspect...which reference kats plays...

but yes with political drama as a backdrop...this film basically adapted from mahabharat pandavas v/s kauravas...i guess nana patekar plays lord krishna...he is the one who guides samar...and in mahabharat its lord krishna who guides arjun...

It was referencing the Mahabarat while strangely resembling the popular Indian political Family. Or so the reviews say.

It was a good one time watch 😆

yeah some bits were dragged. The intro 30 mins was highly boring.

Definitely a good DVD watch, with fast forward 😆

I now ship Arjun and Ranbir 🤣
