Star One readies Idea Ek Se Badkhar Ek

With just a month away from celebrating a new year, Star One already has plans to add a new show to it's programming strategy. Premiering on 23 December is Idea Ek Se Badhkar Ek - a one-of-its-kind countdown show to be hosted by the dashing Manoj Bohra & the chirpy Tina Parakh.

The show is interspersed extensively with celebrity interviews, graphics, special effects, compelling AV montages and more. Adding to the fun element, in an all-new look, Manoj and Tina share an interesting chemistry but are usually at loggerheads, trying to out do one another with witty and snide remarks and fun repartee but an entertaining combination in all! The countdown show includes exciting categories ranging from 'Top 10 Action Heroes', 'Top 10 Love Triangles' to 'Top 10 Sizzling Singles', amongst many others.

Announcing Idea Ek Se Badhkar Ek, Mr. Paritosh Joshi, Advertising, Sales and Distribution, Star India, said, "Idea Ek Se Badhkar Ek is a unique Advertising Funded Programme and is all set to add excitement to Saturday night viewing on Star One. With young hosts, Tina and Manoj, there will be a great amount of interactivity in every episode and viewers will get to win prizes as well. We are thrilled to be associated with a young brand like Idea and hope to reach out to our audiences like we have done in the past with shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Nach Baliye and Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai amongst others"

Let's see if Tina-Manoj can re-create the same chemistry that they are portraying in Star Plus' Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

"As an anchor I can be myself on screen"

Very soon her fans will see her in a new avatar. The petite and chirpy Tina Parakh, better known as, Mutki of Kasauti Zindagi Kay, will now anchor a new bollywood based countdown show, Idea Ek Se Badhkar Ek, on Star One, along with her on screen lover, Manoj Bohra, aka Prem of Kasauti.
As the show takes off tomorrow, we caught up with this bubbly Marwadi babe, who also features in, Kahani Ghar Ghar ki. On a rather excited note she says, "I am really looking forward to my first innings as an anchor with this show. Hosting a show is completely different from doing a serial. One has to be very spontaneous and on the dot as an anchor."

She further says, "Being a bollywood show, there's a non stop chatter banter in between the shots to sustain viewer interest. So, for me right now its lots of rehearsals and research. The best part is that for once, I get to be myself on screen and do my own thing. Since, both Manoj and I are both very headstrong individuals, we always fight in our personal lives, and the same has been carried forward to the show as well"

The hour long show will have a filmy based theme like the Top 10 Action Heroes and Top 10 Love Triangles. The anchor couple will give lots of interesting and funny information about the behind the scenes happenings in Bollywood.
Tina is one of the few lucky Balaji actors to have a good track in Kasauti and Kahaani. "Currently, I have parallel leads in both. Though, I had taken a break from the latter for some time, but now Shruti is back with a bang after the Parvati bhabhi makeover."
As for Kasauti, Tina refused to label her current character of Devaki as negative. Her earlier character of Mukti was bumped off to create more drama in in the serial.
Talking about her new track in Kasauti, Tina says, "I wouldn't say that Devaki is a negative character.She has had a bad past and her way of facing issues in life, may not be the correct way. But then, the poor thing has no other alternative. Also, remember that Devaki has not harmed anybody, so I would call her a grey character instead of black. "

Work-life balance?

With shooting schedules taking up 16-18 hours of an actor's day, relationships are under pressure as never before. The savvy ones, though, have figured a way out -- marry your colleague, so you get to spend those 18 working hours together.

Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, of Nach Baliye fame, are shining examples. But then, such proximity can bring its own problems, even funny ones. Take for instance Manoj Bohra and Tina Parakh, better known as Prem and Mukti in Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

The two will be seen in a new Star One show, Ek Se Badhkar Ek. Launched as a countdown show with a difference, it features the real life pair as a temperamentally opposed couple, constantly fighting with each other and trying to outdo one another. Like, there aren't enough problems within a marriage without having to simulate more on screen, too?

The countdown show, meanwhile, includes categories ranging from 'Top 10 Action Heroes', 'Top 10 Love Triangles' to 'Top 10 Sizzling Singles', amongst others.

'Mukti' to host countdown show on Star One

The 'Countdown' has begun... Star One launches, Idea Ek Se Bhadhkar Ek. Packed with entertainment and excitement, the show will premiere tonight, 30 December at 8 PM. Indya.com talks to the chirpy Tina, who will co host the show with the hunky Manoj Bohra.

Tina Parakh (Mukti - Kasuatii Zindgii Kay; Shruti - Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki) is hosting a new countdown show called Idea Ek Se Bhadhkar Ek on Star One. The show will come on air from 30 December between 8 PM to 9 PM. This show will include attractive segments like 'Top 10 Action Hero', 'Top 10 Love Triangles', and 'Top 10 Sizzling Singles'. Apart from that the show will also include features like celebrity interviews. Tina's co host will be her on screen lover from Kasuatii Zindgii Kay, Manoj Bohra (Prem).

When contacted, Tina who was on her way to Bangalore to celebrate New Year's Eve: "I liked the concept; this is a very exciting offer for me as I have never done anchoring before this. It will be also be very easy for me, because I don't have to prepare for this show. The show will require only two days of the month. So it will not affect my shooting schedule."

Tina is also going to take a break from both her famous serials to get marred in the next month. "I have spoken to the production people three months in advance but I don't know what they are going to do with my track... For that you have speak to production people."

MUMBAI: After announcing the launch of Antakshri, Star One now is all set to launch Idea Ek Se Badhkar Ek a countdown show premiering on 30 December at 8 pm and would be hosted by Manoj Bohra and Tina Parakh.

The countdown show includes categories ranging from Top 10 Action Heroes, Top 10 Love Triangles to Top 10 Sizzling Singles amongst many others.

First Don and now Kaun Banega Crorepati! Shahrukh Khan begins where Amitabh Bachchan leaves his mark. It took everyone (including Sharukh himself) by surprise when the hotshot was approached for the far-famed reality show's third season on Indian television. Nevertheless it did come across as one of the most shocking surprise.

A few raised eyebrows doubt King Khan matching up to Mr. Bachchan's level. Telly actors give in their bit on this revelation. Also, they speak about their expectations from the third season of KBC.

Both have different styles which suit them the best, but I doubt Sharukh Khan will match up to Mr. Bachchan's level. The former is also very humble to people, but I am not very sure if he would make the show as interesting as Amitabhji did. Sharukh is a smart man, even if he did Don, aping or no aping, for the today's generation and for the rest to come, he is the Don!

You're asking a loyalist! It's difficult to imagine KBC without Amitabh Bachchan. Shahrukh Khan has his own style; he is very witty, very snappy and possesses a great sense of humor. I genuinely believe that Shahrukh Khan will be a success, but I doubt the next season will work. Amitabhji is an idol and most of the young generation actors idolize him. Talking about Don, reminds me that Sharukh is planning to make Deewar under his own production.

I don't understand that why are people comparing Sharukh Khan to Mr. Bachchan? Let's not hold on to the fact that a man was hosting a show for four years and you can't see anyone else in his place. May be Sharukh has something more to offer! He is an intelligent man and always keeps the audience glued to the tube with his style of talking. I am really looking forward to the new season of KBC.

Ideally the two superstars shouldn't be compared. Sharukh has an individual style and I am very sure that he will be able to keep the audience rooted to their couch. As Mr. Bachchan was humble and warm, I believe Sharukh too will live up to that.

Intentionally or unintentionally people will compare Sharukh Khan to Mr. Bachchan. But Sharukh is a superstar, and I am really looking forward to this new season. I like the idea of having a new host and that too such a big surprise. And when it comes to Sharukh following Mr, Bachchan's footsteps, I think remakes have been happening since a very long time. It's just that how innovative can one be, and I think Sharukh is doing a great job!
