There haven't been a ton of spoilers about The Vampire Diaries Season 5, but one is raising eyebrows ' including Ian Somerhalder's (Damon Salvatore). The actor attended the Insurgence 5 convention last weekend in Birmingham, England, and luckily for those of us who couldn't be there, lots of fans tweeted fun tidbits from his panel.
So which Season 5 spoiler made Ian say "Oh, s**t," according to thetweets? The one about Damon and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) becoming roommates! As executive producer Julie Plec explained to TVLine, now that he has the girl ' aka, Elena (Nina Dobrev) ' he may have to modify his behavior some. "It'll be a fun dynamic to see him either trying to exercise restraint or not being able to exercise restraint in the name of love of this girl," Julie says, "especially as he's got a new houseguest. He's [living] with Jeremy Gilbert as Elena goes off to college."
It makes sense. Jeremy's supposed to be dead, so they may want to reintroduce him to the Mystic Falls population slowly. Plus, the Gilbert house is no more.
The situation is ripe for comedy gold. Damon is likely to get a little testy when Jer leaves his sketchbooks all over the Salvatore mansion and leaves the Xbox on all night. It sounds like Ian is already looking forward to messing with McQueen!

The writers are busy penning "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, and executive producer Julie Plec teased fans with spoilers at the ATX Television Festival on June 9.
Hollywood Life writes that Plec revealed that Elena and Damon will begin a "new relationship" together and that they'll "try to make it work
However , they'll be challenged by a "villain in their midst they don't know is a villain at the beginning."
That villain must be Silas ' Damon's brother, Stefan, is his doppelganger.
"[There will be] a pretty cool mythology that will carry on in terms of Silas, and the mystery of his past ' 1,000 or 2,000 years ago," Plec said.
Plec also talked about the future of Stefan's friendship with Caroline, according to Wetpaint. She even hinting that there might be more than just friendship for the two.
"It was a big season for Lexi," Plec said. "And knowing that [she] would have this presence throughout the season in flashbacks, I always look at Caroline and Stefan and think of her as his her new Lexi."
Plec revealed that there may still be hope for Caroline and Klaus. Although they're on separate shows and Hayley is pregnant with Klaus' baby, there's still a chance that they could make it work.
"Hayley is, by no means, the Cinderella in the Klaus love story," Plec said.
"Hayley is a girl who's pretty tough, fiery, independent ' a survivor in her own right who got drunk, had sex and got knocked up. She's going to have her own journey. She's not really meant to be a threat to Klaus' love life."
Jeremy will struggle with his sudden return from the dead.
"What the hell cover story is that going to be?" she said. "How's he going to explain that? He had a memorial service! There were flyers!"
Katherine will struggle with her transformation from vampire to human.
"We were just in the room the other day talking about the first time she catches a cold ' just how freakin' pissed she's going to be about that," Plec said.
😆
"Vampire Diaries" fans are still reeling from the shocking Season 4 finale, and we're looking ahead to Season 5.
"Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec spoke to TVLine about what's coming next for Elena, Damon, and Stefan ' who we've just learned is Silas' doppelganger.
Plec revealed that Silas, as Stefan's doppelganger, will be coming back to town in an effort to cure himself.
"His agenda has always been to cure himself, to get rid of the other side so that he could then die and pass over and find peace. That will remain his agenda. The question is: How will he go about it? Everything he meant to do this year blew up in his face."
Silas will also attempt to convince everyone that he really is Stefan.
"He's going to give it a good college try," Plec said. "He is, after all, psychic, as well. So he can get inside people's heads and make them think whatever he wants."
"It's not like we're going to play an entire season of The Parent Trap," she added. "But there will be some funny times right at the beginning of the season."
Katherine, who was turned from a vampire into a human in the Season 4 finale, will now be surrounded by danger.
"Absolutely nothing is going to stop everyone from trying to kill her," Plec said.
"That's what puts her in a pickle that is going to have her seeking out protection from unlikely sources."
" That's the realization she comes to over her summer break," Plec added. "'Oh, boy, did I screw up, and now my chickens are coming home to roost.' She's definitely going to find herself on the wrong end of a lot of vendettas.
Zap2It spoke to actress Arielle Kebbel about her character, recurring guest star Lexi Branson.
Kebbel said she doesn't know for sure if Lexi will resurface on "The Vampire Diaries" or "the Originals," but it seems likely.
"It's important for me to let the fans know that they have truly helped to keep Lexi alive," Kebbel said.
"I love the character deeply, and [executive producer] Julie Plec loves the character, and we are doing the best we can to continue keeping her alive," she said.
"The exciting thing about Lexi is that you never know when she's going to pop up ... but she absolutely can. And most likely will," she added.
"We've had some talk [about Lexi possibly appearing on the upcoming spinoff 'The Originals'], but that's uncharted territory, so they're still figuring out how they want to handle that."
The Vampire Diaries actors Steven R. McQueen has made a few new comments about season 5, Jeremy and Bonnie's relationship, and The Originals.
Fans were relieved to see Bonnie bring Jeremy back to life in The Vampire Diaries season 4 finale. But what's next for the only remaining human Gilbert?
Hollywood Life has a short new interview with McQueen, where he jokes about Jeremy and Bonnie's relationship in season 5.
He says, "Well, have you seen Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore? Its going to be exactly like that! I'm going to mold some clay, and it's going to be beautiful."
McQueen also says he thinks Jeremy might be going back to school, but, "it's all [up to] the amazing writers. I'm putting all my trust and hope in them to make a good show for us all."
Finally, when asked if he might pop over and visit Klaus and the gang on The Originals, he admits that, "I hope so. It's always fun to hang out with the Originals!"
The Vampire Diaries season 5 will premiere Thursday, October 10, airing at its usual time of 8/7c. It'll be followed by new CW drama series Reign.

To recap just a bit of what went down, Elena (Nina Dobrev) made a love choice and it was Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Katherine is now human, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) came back to life and Bonnie (Kat Graham) became a ghost while the gang was also graduating from high school. Oh yeah and Stefan (Paul Wesley) is a doppelganger and is Silas. See, Crazy?
So just where exactly are things headed on Season 5? Executive producerCaroline Dries told Celebuzz and other journalists at Comic-Con Saturday afternoon that the highly anticipated next season will be all about "fresh starts."
With Elena and Caroline (Candice Accola) going off to college, Elena is out to "prove she can be a functioning normal vampire." But while it will be all frat parties and math classes at first, Elena will come to realize there is something more mysterious going on at her new school.
And Delena fans, don't worry, Dries promised that Damon and Elena will be happy -- for a little while at least ' before things go awry. She remarked that while the writers are hyper aware and wanting to keep the sexual tension from before the couple got together, they do want "them to be genuinely happy for a little while because Damon has fought so hard to be with Elena."
"We kind of want to go against the grain," she continued, "and make them a happy couple without bickering and fighting every episode but actually make their relationship suffer from real life issues that come up in normal people relationships and make it less about mythological conflicts."
As for Katherine's new status as a human, Dries revealed that the character will continue to be the "conniving, rude, manipulative bitch" fans have come to love but she is obviously more vulnerable.
"She has to learn how to adapt as all her victims have," she said. "She becomes this weirdly loveable person that you kind of want to date every character on the show. She'll continue to be Katherine the villain for the first chunk of the season because she doesn't know any other way."
There will also be a lot more of the vixen this season. In addition to more Katherine, the show will also delve deep into the doppelganger mythology.

Vampire Diaries lovers Elena and Damon are together at last, but will the honeymoon period last for long?
Executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries joined stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham and Candice Accola at the show's Comic-Con panel on Saturday to tease Delena and Klaroline's future, the looming Big Bad, Katherine's phlegmy human obstacle and more.
SEASON 5 PREVIEW | A sexy sizzle reel (below) was capped off with a sneak peek at the new season: Silas (as Stefan) stands on a platform in the middle of a Town Square summer stage and talks about how much blood he's consumed. He's testing his powers to see how many people he can influence. Perhaps a whole crowd of compelled residents? Meanwhile, Bonnie lets out a chilling scream in the midst of the mob.
DELENA'S FUTURE | Now that Elena and Damon are finally a couple, will they get some joyful times? "There's no drama in happiness," Plec pointed out. However, "[We] try to keep them happy for a while in midst of all the bad things around them trying to tear them apart." Somerhalder, who was surprised Elena chose his character ("I thought they were joking. Damon never gets the girl," he marveled), added that the vamp is "smitten and sweet."
SILAS MEETS HIS COMPETITION | "The Big Bad rarely launches the season," hinted Plec. "The Big Bad often gets vanquished" by an even Bigger Bad, so Silas might need to watch his back. In the meantime, "we will catch a glimpse of what happened to get Silas the way he is," the EP teased.
SCHOOL ROMANCE | The show's vampire girls "can't get by with the same tricks" at college as Mystic Falls, Accola noted. (A funny observation from Wesley: "Why are we pursuing higher education? We're all murderers. We can steal whatever we want.") And what's college without some cute new boys? "There will be some apples to be picked," the actress smiled. Best rest assured, Caroline's "pretty determined to get Tyler to college so they can finally be together, since Klaus is gone." As for whether the Original will return to the gal he's enamored with, Plec said the question is, "Will Caroline have her hands full of Klaus in New Orleans?"
COLDS SUCK | How will Katherine deal with being human? "It's not going to be good for her," replied Dobrev "She's going to be lost and weak and insecure." And dealing with some particularly green phlegm from a cough, Dries teased.
CROSSING OVER | With Bonnie dead, viewers will get to see her perspective on the other side. She'll also be dealing with the fact that she sacrificed her own life without really realizing it, and the grief that comes with that. At the start, the witch will only be able to communicate with Jeremy – who's rooming with Damon – but "we'll see for how long she can keep her secret – if at all," shared Graham.
BACK FROM THE DEAD | Jeremy's reappearance will be explained during a funny scene in which Elena rehearses him through his cover story: He faked his own death, burned his house down and ran away from home.
