Ok folks, so I am going to write a quick review of the episode today with my take on it. By no means do I intend to disrespect anyone's feelings or to thrust my opinion on the readers. Simply stating what's on my mind as I've got some time to kill..
Mind you, Yash would never replace Iqbal. However, he will provide something different to us as Shiv Kapoor. And that something different could already be felt today in the episode where his chemistry seemed to be much liked and appreciated with Ipshita. We already disapproved of Ipshita-Shiv's jodi when there was Iqbal involved. However, it was bearable for us to see Yash in his place instead. I believe that different is not always bad. So perhaps this different side of Shiv Kapoor's character would turn out for the best in future.
As far as Yash's entry is concerned, I have to give props to the stylist because I really didn't want to see Yash with his 70s do or partitioned hairstyle that he was supporting in NB2. I had enough of that. But with this haircut, he looked quite good. I think the outfits need to be analyzed now in more depth, as we don't want to see Shiv Kapoor wearing sleeveless shirts now supporting a rocker's appearance. We had one angad already in that respect (hehehe).. But with a more mature look and depth in terms of his outfits, he will continue to make a place hopefully in audience's hearts.
The entry scene was quite good for Yash.. I am glad Ekta actually showed a note instead of a bogus plastic surgery routine or some other weird crap. Who am I to critique on an actor's skills when I don't have any knowledge about acting or performing arts myself.. But I am going to state here that I liked the fact that he fared well here. The two things that I was not convinced with was that the fact that the damn wires to which Yash was attached with was being shaken by him way too much. Darn it, you have a bomb attached to you.. Would you be shaking like a leaf here then? I agree you are being emotional here Shiv but when a bomb is attached to you, you need to take a deep breath and stay in one place. Not shake it to get blasted off right away.. :P Other thing was the fact that his voice intensity was not doing justice to his acting. Yash's tone is low in the dialogue delivery and I think this is what makes him come off much more sweeter across viewers than as a person who used to be arrogant once upon a time. But still, he was pretty good here. I have to applaud Pallavi's acting here.. Gosh, this girl impresses me more and more everyday. She did not hesitate for one second with Yash. She was quite comfortable with him. If not for anyone, I intend to watch the serial for Pallavi's sake. That'd be enough for me for now!!Talking about the the chemistry between Yash and Pallavi, sure it was not up to the notch. But time is required here folks!! Chemistry may never be there but unless we give some time to Yash to get comfortable with the character himself, it is unfair to have huge expectations from him. But one thing is true.. He rocked the joint with Ipshita today. The way he wished her for her birthday and the way he kissed her on her forehead, it was all very sweet. I would've been puking my guts out if that had been Iqbal there as Shiv. God knows I would've forwarded the whole scene.. But I didn't do so this time. So it wasn't so bad today.
I would end here by saying this.. I don't think there could be anyone who could portray Shiv Kapoor as amazingly as Iqbal Khan did. For me, he's the original and the epitome of what Shiv Kapoor is all about. But reality is that he's gone now. And Yash was apparently not a bad choice as I was dreading it. He didn't make me cringe throughout the episode. He made me appreciate his acting actually. I have seen his work in a movie earlier (Popcorn Khao..) but I was not impressed there with his role. But he displayed his acting skills well as Shiv Kapoor. Whether Iqbal comes back to KAA later on or not is something I don't want to even ponder about because that would mean leading myself to a false hope most probably. So let Iqbal enjoy his time off away from the tinsel town and embrace the new changes as they come our way..A great philosopher once said:
"Since changes are going on anyway, the great thing is to learn enough about them so that we will be able to lay hold of them and turn them in the direction of our desires. Conditions and events are neither to be fled from nor passively acquiesced in; they are to be utilized and directed".
Or as Tupac once sang..
"That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
Oh, yeah!! "
Cheers,
Sana~
