PeeCee to play Ranveer's sister in Zoya's next?

Priyanka Chopra, who stars opposite Ranveer Singh in Gunday, has been approached to essay his sister in Zoya Akhtar's next and from what we hear, has green-lighted the project.

Interestingly, the role was initially planned with Kareena Kapoor in mind but if sources are to be believed, she opted out because she was apprehensive about playing Ranveer's elder sister.

Zoya's original plan was to have Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor - first cousins in real life too - play siblings in her film. Both of them agreed but sometime ago, Ranbir backed out of the project and Ranveer replaced him.

A source told Mirror: "When Zoya began writing the script, she thought of getting Kareena and Ranbir together. Kareena was extremely excited to play Ranbir's screen sister. But with Ranveer stepping in, she is now having second thoughts."

This is not the first time that Ranveer's dream of working with Kareena has been quashed. Once before when they were to work together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela, Bebo opted out and Deepika Padukone stepped into her shoes.

Both Priyanka and Kareena chose not to comment on the development. Ditto for Zoya.
