😊BREAKING and mind blowing DEBATE : "Can anti-cigarette adverts cut smoking"?😛

😆Hey all must debate. 😃Its about people who smoke whole day whether they are in Europe or other part of the world. I am goona tell about UK so here it is about the consequences of smoking.😕😳

Are hard-hitting ads an effective way of encouraging people to give up smoking?😕😕😕

New adverts showing the dangers people face from smoking to excess are to be featured in the Great Britain(UK).😊

The government campaign Hook, which shows smokers being pulled along by fish hooks through their lips, will be launched on New Year's Day, seven months before a public smoking ban starts in England. 👏

Smoking kills over 100,000 people each year in the UK, government figures show.😭

😳 Are you a smoker who is influenced by anti-smoking ads? Will the latest campaign get you 'unhooked'? Does the anti-smoking message ever get across? Is there another way of getting the message across?

thank God, nobody in my family drinks or smokes! i think the anti-smoking thing helps ppl to think abt the consequences and it does have an effect on them

It depends totally on the person themselves...they will quit only when they want to...these campaigns have no use...its a personal choice which becomes and addiction and its very difficult to give up...I personally dont smoke...but I know a lot of smokers.

everyone is always aware from the start.... that it can kill u.

but i think adverts make smokers think that a lot of ppl must be dying hence they're putting up these ads and therefore could indirectly help reduce the no. of smokers.

its the will to wanna stop smoking.

well smokers generalli ignore those ads
and then here, theres ugly photos on the packs...and they usually dont care....or ask for one with just the words
i know smokers and i always ask if the ads get to them. they say they dunt
i mean, i love my coke...and then u get all the fwds bout how u shudnt drink coke and they show some pretty scary facts...but it has no effect on me watsoever...lol i know coke and smokin are different, but the essence is still the same

BUT wat i think the ads are successful at are dissuadin OTHERS who may be THINKIN of startin to smoke. which is just as good

These ads only work to an extent. Its a combination of smoking ads, regulation and cigarette taxes which has a bigger impact.

I completely agree. Restrictions on smoking in public places is the most effective along with antismoking campaign and raised cig taxes.
