Message In The Mehndi: Epi June 14
'Mehndi Special' That's how Zee has advertized these last few episodes. Just goes to show that mehndi will play a significant role in this story.
Last night's episode represented three aspects of the AsYa love story via the mehndi-
1. Mohabbat (Love): As Zoya had said in one of the earlier episodes this week- jin logon se main mohabbat karti hoon- the mehndi ceremony was a representation of her love for the whole family. Dilshaad, her mother in law whom she loves like her mother was given the right to kick off the ceremony. Even though Zoya was hesitant because of the acid, once she saw Dilshaad express her desire to draw the design on her palm, Zoya's love for Dilshaad overpowered any hesitation she had. Dilshaad will always have the first right over her daughter in law and under no circumstance would Zoya let her down. This also gives me hope that the nikaah shall happen because Zoya would never let Dilshaad's challenge fail.
Next, she let the mehndi cone create the designs on her palm even though the pain from the acid was unbearable. Just a glance at Asad gave her the strength to endure the pain. Asad's happiness had no bounds last night. Zoya knew how much the mehndi meant to him. She smiled tearfully at him. When she looked away, the pain was obvious in her eyes. Asad noticed the tears in her eyes and his worried expression tells me that he sensed her discomfort. This scene also foreshadows their future relationship. She will bear any pain for his happiness; his smile would act as a balm for any discomfort she has to endure and he would always be able to sense her pain even if she tries to hide it.
2. Yakeen (faith): Zoya had warned Tanveer- mera pyar aur bharosa tumhari har saazish par bhaari padhega- this is what we saw last night. While some people are wondering why should Zoya tolerate the acid in the mehndi, I feel this is her way of letting Tanveer know that her faith in herself and her love for Asad is unshakeable. Tanveer would never be able to break her. Any threat would not dissauade Zoya's faith in her love. This gives me hope that even if Tanveer tries to pull off a SR or any devious stunt to fool Asad, Zoya would not break down or get fooled by it.
Loved the way Zoya taunted Tanveer with her killer looks and sugar coated sarcastic remarks.
3. Haq (Right): Last night, Zoya made it very clear that she was the lion king's queen and Tanveer had no right on Asad.
Zoya used the term 'mere shauhar ka naam' with complete authority. She even said Asad's name twice.
"Kahin galti se Jammy ka naam mat likh dena. Nikaah mera ho raha hai, tumhara nahin." This one sentence said it all. I wonder if Dilshaad heard it and wonder what she would make of it.
So, Tanveer has been given the honorable task of inscribing Asad's name on her palm. This is the ultimate clue- Asad would always belong to Zoya even if Tanveer tries otherwise. As I have said before, Tanveer has been the best wedding planner for AsYa.
A friend of mine (Muniza) mentioned that even though the acid will burn Zoya's palms, it will ultimately burn Tanveer in the long run.
Tanveer has played with fire for far too long. High time she gets burnt in her own acidic and fiery games. Hope next week, the blisters on Zoya's palm will pave a path to the unraveling of Tanveer's real face.
