Contrary to what people say, I'm actually quite interested in knowing where this is going. I know Chhanchhan may not be everyone's cup of tea as majority of the youth (the ones that make up most of Sanaya's fanbase) are sucker for love stories. The hot, sizzling romance, with the mills and boons type love story...? Chhanchhan is obviously different and it's a family drama. It has a balance of everything. Romance, drama, comedy.
I see the story becoming interesting. We know the 30 day track is coming up which is the main plot of the show. After Chhanchhan gets married, she goes to her sasural where Uma Ben has sworn to kick her out of the house within 30 days. Now the question is, whether she is actually successful in doing so or will Chhanchhan manage to win everyone over? They're creating a lot of suspense around this. We see Ranjhana bhabhi already spewing jealousy towards Chhanchhan who is "sabse laadli bahu" along with Maathan (is he her husband?). This guy gives out the bad vibes. I have a feeling these two will definitely turn against Chhanchhan when the time comes. Kamudi is the supportive one while Sanjhana is too dumb to really be anything. Interesting characterizations we have.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I don't enjoy watching love stories all the time. A good show is one that has a balance of everything so that all groups of audiences can enjoy. This show has that. UB-CC appeal to the aunties while Manav-CC and their adorable chemistry appeals to us, the romance hungry viewers.
A few positive things about this show: The PH listens. We complained about the bad direction and editing; they replaced the director and a vast improvement can be seen. We complained about the unquestionably disastrous ML; they replaced him with an ACTOR. We wanted ChanMan scenes to be redone in flashback; we saw those yesterday. So they listen and are willing to improve wherever possible. Another is they have a very strong cast. The actors in this show are very good. Not one actor looks out of place. From the leads to the saas, the brothers and bhabhis, to even the dogs who can act so well! I'm very impressed with the cast. The PH have done an incredible job with the casting, even the supporting characters perform outstandingly.
One thing I would like to see: Anuj Sachdeva has left a very good impression on me. Previously I was begging for the male lead's role to be scrapped, now I'm asking for more screenspace. Anuj is a very good actor and definitely has a lot of potential. He performs impressively in intimate scenes, I'm sure he'll do well in intense ones too. Anuj needs more screenspace, something more than just romancing CC.
I hope to see Chhanchhan doing well on the TRP charts but like Sony, I'm not too worried. This show is buzzed about consistently in the media. It's picking up and you can tell. It has VERY stiff competition from DABH so it may be low in TRPs but if you look at it, overall Chhanchhan is a well balanced show with a very good cast. I can't wait to see this 30 days track! :)
