What a coincidence?! I was just reading Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison. Is Storm's Heart good? I have read mixed opinions about it.

Favorite author(s) & why: Anne Perry (She has the ability to weave intriguing mysteries & conspiracies set in the Victorian Age, and she writes in such a way that you are immersed in that era), Jane Austen (for the feel-good, witty nature of her books which instantly perks up your mood), the Bronte sisters (they serve as good counterpoint to Austen and show the darker side of that period), Lisa Kleypas (because I'm a sucker for historical romance and I love the emotion and depth she puts into her stories and characters) and many more.
'Best Writer' according to me: Writers of the old classics and particularly those who make you forget yourself and transport you into the world of their stories.
Favorite book(s): 'Atonement' by Ian McEwan, 'A Clockwork Orange' by Anthony Burgess, 'The Lord of the Rings' Trilogy, 'A Suitable Boy' by Vikram Seth, 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' by D.H. Lawrence (Yes, I'm aware my favorite books doesn't correspond with my favorite authors 😊)
Reading Books in my Mothertongue: Nope, never have because it would take a verry long time to finish (my mother tongue is Malayalam by the way)
Writing: I like scribbling or jotting things down once in a while, but so far they are mainly for my eyes only. Would be nice to get published some day.
Book(s) reading now: 'The Pillars of the Earth' by Ken Follett and 'The Moonstone' by Wilkie Collins', and about to finish 'Digital Fortress' by Dan Brown
A world without books: Cannot even begin to imagine! Like life without soul.

Fav Author and why - Its difficult to just name one, so here goes.
  • Jeffrey Archer - I absolutely love his style/ He is a master storyteller.
  • Jane Austen - Huge Austen fan, her books transport you to an other era.She is insanely witty about the socio-economic statuses and the workings of a dull mundane/idyllic life. I like her female characters, all have dreams, ambitions, shortcomings and yet they keep their head high and make the most of the situations.
  • Bronte sisters - They absolutely take you bac to the dark side of the other era and yet be absolutely romantic.
  • Judith McNaught - for her Victorian romances.
  • Stieg Larsson - for his crime trilogy which is dark but realistic
  • Mario Puzo - Simply fab imagination.
'Best writer' - One who has the ability to transport and hold you captive in their set up. One whose imagination takes you places you crave to be in. One who is "unputdownable".

Fav books - Rebecca - Daphne Du Maurier, Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen, Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte, The Millenium Series - Stieg Larsson, As the crow flies - Jeffrey Archer, The Godfather - Mario Puzo, Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte and the list goes on..

Reading books in my mothertongue - No

Writing - Sometimes.

My current reading list includes A Storm of Swords - George R R Martin, Inferno - Dan Brown, The Racketeer - John Grisham.

A world without books would be unimaginably soulless !!

Hi,

  • My favorite writer are three Jack London, Gojim Oavin and Suzanne Collins.
Like them three, because of them writing style. There are only action and adventure without those little details in fiction story that irritate: FOR EXAMPLE - "how girl cleans her teeth". When I read such sentences I can not understand why writer wrote them?? It is not pleasure to read for me at all such details. I like full of adventure and unique stories, so I choose those three wirters that they can offer that I want. 👏

  • Sure best writer is that who writes knew story and don't repeate his self in new book. So, I give first place to Jack London.😉
  • Three my favorite books:
  1. "Martin Iden" by Jack London - this is story writen about his life like bio, but in live storyline.👏
  2. "Digital mind jail" by Gojim Oavin - good futuristic full of action ebook.👏
  3. "Hunger games" by Suzanne Collins - Suzanne has great story telling talent. It is great to read her books.
  • Yes I read books in mothertongue.
  • In my ebook reader knowadays is cooking ebook: "China study recepts".

The world without great books and authors would be MUCH MORE EMPTY than it is right now...😲
