Another OS is here. Yes that's the third one on this day and the last one too. So yeah don't worry 😆 My cousin had her first child today, a daughter who her Dad named her Zara ages ago. So I was really tempted to post this one today as well 😳
AsYa OS: A Picture Perfect Family
He heard a female voice address him and he spun on his heels to find a nurse briskly walking towards him, carrying what looked like a little bundle of blanket in her arms.
"Congratulations, Mr. Khan! You've got a beautiful girl there." She said with a genuine smile as she reached him.
He quietly spread out his arms as she gently transferred the sleeping infant into them, too awed and overwhelmed with happiness to even utter a thanks.
The nurse smiled understandingly at him as she walked off.
Asad Ahmed Khan stood there transfixed, staring at the priceless treasure in his arms, tears of absolute joy threatening to spill from his eyes while a dazzling smile adorned his lips. He felt his heart swelling to twice its size as it tried to accommodate the increasing love inside him for the little wonder in his arms. He couldn't believe that his little angel was finally here.
"You kept Abbu waiting for a long time, didn't you, Princess?" He murmured lovingly to her in a soft voice, as he slowly made his way back into Zoya's room.
"Zoya?" He called out to her softly and she opened her eyes to look at him, eyes shining with joy despite her weary and tired appearance.
"She's here?" She beamed at him.
"Yes!" He sat on the bed next to her as he gently placed the baby in her arms and saw Zoya's hazel eyes swimming with unshed tears of absolute happiness.
The hospital staff had taken the baby after birth to give her a bath and to undergo medical examination. The doctor had informed them that the baby was perfectly fine but all the time she had been away, Asad had a hard time sitting straight. He would step out the ward every 5 minutes checking to see if she was back and finally after an hour she was.
"Isn't she just perfect?" He asked Zoya in a husky voice, the lump in his throat making it difficult for him to speak and Zoya simply nodded, at a loss of words, tears already streaming down her face.
"I think she's the most perfect thing I've ever laid my eyes on! And the best part is that she looks just like you, especially her eyes." Their daughter had opened her eyes a few minutes after she was born and had the exact same pair of doe-like eyes like her mother.
"Thank you Zoya for giving me such a precious gift. I don't think I'll ever be able to thank you enough even if I spent my entire life doing it." He said hoarsely, his eyes swimming with tears as he leaned to plant a kiss on her forehead. "Thank You," he whispered again.
They just looked at each other for a while, both at a loss for words, before Asad extended his arms towards Zoya and said in a thick, teasing voice, "Excuse me, Can I have my princess back? I think Zoha wants to be with her Abbu." And Zoya laughed lightly as she handed her back to him.
There was a soft knock on the door and the rest of the Khan clan swarmed in, their faces glowing, their eyes searching for the newcomer and the room was suddenly filled with voices congratulating each other. Asad gave Zoha back in Zoya's arms as he got up to greet everybody.
"Bhaijan!!" Najma squealed happily as she ran in to give Asad a quick hug, followed by Dilshad who kissed his cheek affectionately, congratulating him.
Ayaan came next, giving him a tight hug and almost in tears of joy.
"I'm so happy for you, Bhaijan." He told Asad, pumping his back. "Now, aren't you going to introduce us to Zoha?"
"Sure." Asad gently placed his daughter into his mother's arms and smiled as the rest of the family crowded around them and an instant discussion started on who she looked like.
After everyone had decided that she looked exactly like Zoya and had a go at holding her, Asad finally had his little angel to himself again.
His eyes then fell on his 3 year old son, Ahsan, quietly cuddling into Zoya and he made his way towards them. Ahsan looked slightly upset and confused. And he had not come running to Asad shouting salaam in a loud voice, which was something that never happened. Ahsan liked to make his presence known.
He smiled at his son as he introduced him to his sister saying, "Ahsan, meet your baby sister, Zoha."
He smiled at Zoya as he saw Ahsan intently watching Zoha, confusion and deep thinking visible on his face, his usual cheeky grin missing. And Asad understood immediately that Ahsan was having a hard time grasping the fact that this little baby was actually going to be his sister.
"Do you like her?" Asad asked, sitting next to him, watching his son's subdued face and noticed how the twinkle in his eyes was missing. Ahsan's sparkling intelligent blue eyes always made him want to know what he was thinking.
Ahsan shrugged his shoulders lightly, apparently not happy with the newcomer stealing his attention.
"You know what, Ahsan?" Asad asked him in a loving voice. "Today I feel like the happiest man alive."
"Because she's here?" Ahsan jerked his chin towards Zoha causing Asad to chuckle.
"Yes because now my family's complete." Asad told him.
"Okay." Ahsan replied moodily.
"Get aside Bhaijan. You have absolutely no clue how to talk with kids." Ayaan whispered in his ears and sat on Ahsan's other side. Asad was surprised to hear this. When did Ayaan become a kid's expert?
"Hey Ahsan, do you have any idea how exciting it is to be an older brother?" He asked him excitedly and Ahsan shook his head.
"Trust me buddy. It's the coolest thing ever. You know why?"
"Why?" Ahsan asked his role model Chacho.
"Because you get to watch over your sister and if anyone dares messes with her, you get to beat them too." He said enthusiastically and saw a grin making its way to Ahsan's face.
"Really Chacho? You mean I'll get to beat people?" He asked his eyes wide and hopeful.
Asad opened his mouth to stop Ayaan and tell Ahsan that good boys didn't fight but the gentle shake of Zoya's face and the happiness on his son's face stopped him.
"Yes dude! I've beaten so many." Ayaan bragged and Ahsan's face lit up with the brightest of smiles.
"That's so cool!! I'm going to be the best brother ever Chacho! I'll beat everybody." Ahsan threw a fist in the air, looking absolutely thrilled by the idea.
"Not everyone, only those who mess with your sister," Asad added, happy to see his son's excitement and the way he had easily accepted his duty of protecting his baby sister.
Najma quickly fished out her camera and handed it to the nurse to take a picture and the small happy family quickly posed for a photograph, a huge portrait of which always graced Asad and Zoya's bedroom wall for all the upcoming years.
