prejudice, of any kind, is racism. one person consciously eliminating (out of their head) the option an otherwise potential mate because of their skin colour would constitute as prejudice. However, it somehow sounds extreme to say this. there is even "the yellow fetish", "the black fetish", "the curry fetish", etc. on the other end of the spectrum where people ONLY want to date another race and no one else.
In my eyes, it is racism: both the avoidance and the fetishes. but since it only involves the two parties involved in a relationship, it does impact us directly and can be overlooked. it is simply the zenophobia behind this way of thinking that scares me. we are melting pot of cultures and sooner or later we will have to get over our feels to march in to the future together.
high five for the cheesy pep talk😆

Hatred of another Race; considering all individuals of that race as beneath your own in terms of intelligence, value or ability. That's "Racism" for me. Marriage is a complex thing, it shouldn't be viewed through the over-simplified lens of racism always.

First of all people from mixed races are often the most beautiful/handsome 😆 and while you are very diversified yourself it'd be hard to find someone with your exact mix, but all that aside, you marry for love. Who you're going to fall in love with is based on who that person is and not how on what your family or relatives require him to be.
In India especially, it is traditionally considered disrespectful for you to marry outside your ethnicity or even outside your place on the socio economic ladder in some cases. Parents and their relatives too are over sensitive bout the marriage issue and have hopes and desires for you and it may be a form of disrespect to them (again, depending on their culture) if you marry outside your race. 😳 This almost edges on racism in a way, when the society doesn't even realise it.

The choice of who you spend the rest of your life with is ultimately your decision and you SHOULDN'T be looked down on for whom you chose to marry. As for anyone who does look unfavorably on it, well shame on them. 😆
