Previously-

Ananya was shell shocked after getting to know the real nature of their marriage from him .

Without saying anymore veer left.

PART 19

The feeling was so...so...numbing. She just stared at the spot where he had stood and shown her the glimpse of reality. The tears which were burning at the back of her eyes few moments ago seemed to have evaporated. Because there was no moisture in her eyes; they were just .. Lifeless ,deprived of any emotion.

It is said that eyes are the mirror of heart. If that's suppose to be the truth ,her heart must have been caught in a ice age or drought.

Finally her legs gave up and she knelt on the floor but her eyes hardly blinked or averted.

Veer just drove off way from Singh mansion. He felt like the biggest jerk alive. She was shattered when he asked for the divorce. But the mirage she had formed, had to broken. He intended to clear things with her soon, telling her about the circumstances of their marriage. Making her accept that the belief she was in love with him was just mere volatile feelings formed due the situation.

But due the incident with piyu, he just lost it. Though it wasn't an excuse for his behavior. He should have explained Ananya that he had got into this relation under duress and he no more can continue like this for her , his & piyu's benefit.

But instead of giving a rational explanation ,he just dumped the news on her and stormed out of the house.

"dad why r we going to farmhouse"

Than veer registered that piyu was sitting beside him. Veer got his head straight, composed himself and smiled and replied

"who kya hai naa princess, I'm missing my horses and if I leave u here I'll miss u too. That's why main aapko aapne saath le jar raha hoon. "

Piyu merrily accepted the explanation.

Veer decided not to dwell on Ananya's thoughts .

What done was done!

Though at the back of his mind ,he still was worried but he just shut the thoughts off.

It was still 3 hrs for them to reach the farmhouse.

Seema found Ananya frozen on the floor. She called out , tapped her shoulder but Ananya just looked into her eyes expressionlessly.

Seema lips thinned but she didn't say anything , she made Ananya stand and took Ananya to her room.

She made Ananya drink juice and tucked her into the bed. As if Ananya were a puppet ,Seema handled her ,as Ananya just went with the flow, didn't attempt to resist seema.

When seema came in later to check Ananya , Ananya was suffering from fever

Quickly a doctor was summoned Jaya and seema were by her bedside worried.

Doctor examined Ananya and instructed seema about her medicines and diet.

At night seema came to feed Ananya porridge as she did at afternoon.

Ananya was elevated on the bed in sitting position with pillows supporting her,she looked like hell . Frisky & tangled hair, hollowness of eyes , Her face was pale.

Ananya sat like a lifeless figure, just opening her mouth when Seema raised the spoon to her face.

Seema grimaced seeing ananya's condition but she didn't say anything. She gave ananya her meds and tucking her in bed. Seeema left .

Ananya awakened, blinking her eyes, she was completely confused in the darkness. It was some unholy time at the night . She was drenched in sweat . But her body was cool no longer baking with fever

It took her long moments to collect herself and realize what had happened. She slowly got up and a soundless sob broke from her lips. She covered her mouth with both her palms. And then the dam broke, tears began to flow.

The room echoed with her sniffs and sobs. She covered her face with her hands and her head flopping downwards , and her frizzy and disheveled hair , haphazardly curtaining her face. Finally she got her self together and raised her head .

Her eyes were dimmed with hopelessness. It was defeat, resignation in them.

She gingerly got off the bed and left her room

The night was dark and gloomy ,exactly like her mood. The ambiance was quiet with just cricking of insects.

The road was aligned with trees along with few street lights . it was scary at this time of night to be alone on a deserted road ,but she couldn't care less or maybe had lost the ability of caring.

It was as if nothing matter . She just kept on walking.

After getting a reality check she couldn't have stayed at Singh mansion. She had to get out. When she got off the bed ; her limps protested, but her resolve was strong.

She got outdoor without being noticed, and luckily was able to slip through the back entrance when the guard left his post for sometime.

Now after an hour, walking on the empty road, she had no clue where to go or where life would lead her.

She was heartbroken, upset and lost but she continued to walk, one step at a time

Suddenly she flinched due the bright light falling on her face, she raised her hands over her face to block the light. But suddenly it was too much to stand after the excursion, her knees gave up and her vision became fuzzy ,and in a second she was unconscious on the ground.

The car halted mere a foot away from her. A pair of legs clad in black jeans descended from the car and walked towards her, a brown hand came to whisk the hair away from her face . Finally the Ananya was lifted off the ground and placed on the backseat of the car .

Then the driver got behind the wheel and drove off.

"Kamre mein nahi hai ! kya matlab nahi hai? Tumne thik se dekha?" jaya demanded ,when Seema rushed to the dinning hall where everyone was having breakfast, to inform that ananya wasn't in her room when she took breakfast for her.

Seema hysterically "mummyji maine har jagah dekh liya, who kahi nahi hai"

Jaya decided to look into the matter, told Manoj to instruct the servants to check in the house and do the perimeter check.

Gia and ria were super disappointed because if some crisis would be going on then they won't be able to make the shopping trip they had planned with jenny.

Everyone left the table worried about ananya ,just wannabies were left.

Gia- god ! ab ye psycho kaunsa stunt karne wali hai

Ria= already she sent chachu running away. Now does she wants us to drive mad.

At Alok Rai's office

Ajay and Mr Rai were knee deep in paper work and voluble discussion was going on.

Finally the clock dinged indicating it was 1.pm.

Alok Rai(getting off the chair)- lunch break

Ajay=(protested) uncle bas yeh file finish kar lu.

But Alok Rai was persistent according to him every job should be done at its own time.

When they were having lunch,

Alok Rai= So what have to decided about joining the team of Khuranna industries's legal adviser

Ajay = I'm not sure yet. Corporate law means getting stuck in office 9 to 5

Alok Rai-Ajay , you know that I cannot trust simply anyone for to this job , because my main objective is to safeguard ananya's interest and her welfare.

Ajay eyes gleamed at the mention of ananya's name, he smiled thinking about her.

And replied "fine uncle I will give you the answer soon"

Alok Rai= Good. After lunch I have to visit singh mansion as I have to discuss some matters with Mrs singh

Ajay was elated at the prospect of meeting ananya.

"Ma mujhe lagta hai. Hume police to khabar kardeni chahiye.ananya ke gumshuda hone ke bare mein" manoj suggested his mother after the failed attempts of finding ananya

But before jaya could answer a gasp was heard from the door of the study in which jaya ,manoj and seema we discussing what to do about the situation.

Everyone's head turned, Mr Rai and Ajay were stunned in response to manoj's word

But quickly Mr Rai strode into the study and was demanding answers from Mrs Singh.

Reluctantly she had to unravel the truth about piyu's hospitalization and veer leaving the house .

Listening to the turn of events in mere days ago, both ajay and alok were taken aback.

Ajay blurted out furiously , "what sort people are you. Because of ananya you were able to save yourself from bankruptcy and she was treated like that..."

Alok interjected him by saying "ajay this not the time for pointing fingers, our priority is to find ananya"

Ananya was ensconced in a bed. She was asleep. A fair well manicured hand wearing diamond ring touched her forehead.

"poor baby.but you have to know this was gonna happens when you don't listen to your mother" sounded a voice with fake dramatics.

Naintara got on her feet ,clad in yellow saree oozing her vampness.

Last time eyeing ananya when she was at the door ,she smirked and left the room.

Downstairs Mukul and Shasha got off their seats and demanded what should be done next.

Naintara had a surveillance on Ananya even when she was at Singh mansion, when , Naintara's appointed snitch informed her that ananya had left the house at night, Naintara quickly entrusted the task to Mukul to get her home,which he did perfectly .

"don't worry everything is falling into place. We will keep ananya hidden and then we can hold singh family for being reckless with her"

Mukul "but that won't give you ananya's guardianship to you"

Nainatara smiled "that won't but if we prove ananya is mentally unstable and her in - laws are not fit to take care of her then I get it"

Shasha "but what about veer. He has to divorce her"

Naintara "that won't be tough. Let ananya be missing for a while than we will lodge a complain that Singh family has emotionally abused her ,on that grounds divorce will be easily granted"

Mukul"I get on the work, to get a team of doctors along with me to certify ananya's unstable condition"

Nainatara "now thats taken care of. Shasha make something for your sister to eat"

Shasha "mom! Me. "

"yes something sweet, healthy, and of course sleepy" Naintara added evilly.

Mukul had already given the drugs to ananya in form of injections so she would be in not condition to make decisions

Nainatara "now if u all will get to work I have to take care of my daughter..."

Ananya opened her eye and was confused. The sight was familiar ,it was her old room.

She tried to sit up ,naintara stopped her "beta don't get up"

Ananya "mom"

Naintara "don't worry beta you are with your loved one's now. Your are safe. No one will hurt you"

Ananya's voice wobbled "he doesn't love me "

Naintara trying to give performance to win mother of the year of award' , "hush ,baby, no more talk abt bad things. You are home now. Here everyone loves you for who you are."

She made ananya drink a glass of orange juice infused with sleeping pills. " So go to sleep"

Ananya was on the realm of exhaustion due the effect of the meds

So she dozed off.

The descending sun hazed the sky with orange tint. It had been more than 12 hours since Ananya had gone missing. And still there was no progress on the matter.

Alok along with the Singh family had exhausted every means but there was no news on ananya. Getting the news of ananya's disappearance Ms D'souza (nanny) too rushed to Singh mansion.

Everyone were gathered together in the drawing room , Ms D'souza was sited on the sofa trying hard not to breakdown and sob.

In order to keep the matter under wrap, Alok and singh family decided to seek help from their acquaintance ACP Avinash Thakur.

When ACP arrived in the evening seeing the tense faces , he suggested that only few members could join him in the study ,so discussion can be done

Alok ,Ajay ,Manoj along with Mrs Singh joined him in the study. Leaving Seema and Ms d'souza in the drawing room.

In study,ACP said " off the record all the efforts are made by the police department. But till now they haven't succeeded."

In the drawing room seema was trying to emotionally support Ms d'souza when the phone rang, seema answered it.

S-hello

From the other side veer replied "bhabhi hum farmhouse pahuch gaye hai..."

S - veer (she spoke in distress)

V- Bhabhi kya hua?

Before seema could reply , nanny took the receiver and pleaded to veer , "veer ,meri ananya baby ko dhund leke aao" and she started sobbing. Seema consoled her and spoke to veer and informed him about ananya being missing.

"Bhabhi main waha aa raha hoon" ,Said Veer and line went dead.

"its alright officer you were doing your job" Mukul replied to one of the police officer's who came to investigate Ananya being missing.

When the two cops with few constables arrived to Khurana Bunglow, Naintara feigned ignorance about what was going on and became hysterical and started cussing Singh family for ananya's disappearance.

When the officers produced a search warrant , Naintara lost it and started hissing fire for being accused for her own daughter's disappearance .

The cops tried to convinced her it was routine procedure in order to get all leads covered ,which inturn was gonna help find ananya. But Naintara was stubborn that they won't be searching her house.

Mukul arrived downstairs and handled the situation and allowed them to search. . Naintara protested but mukul placed a hand on her shoulder reassured her .

The constables searched the bungalow ,while the cops spoke to mukul as naintara refuse to talk to them.

But at last they didn't found anything and cops apologized and left.

When coast was clear naintara earnestly asked mukul "where is she?"

"In my closet mom" shasha replied with repulsion arriving in the room before mukul could answer.

FYI shasha's closet was equivalent to a small flat ,with a fake hanging racks of clothes as its door. So from outside no one could guess that the cupboard in her room with clothes hanging in it was actually an entrance for a walk-in closet.

N "thank god. Main toh darr hi gayi hai"

Shasha pouted "Mukul baby, usse waha se bahar nikalo, mere clothes karab ho jayenge"

Shasha was mean brainless creature with no sympathy for her stepsister ,whose money was the reason her obscenely expensive wardrobe existed in the first place.

Veer hastily parked the car in front of Singh mansion and got out. He drove like a maniac to reach the city in record time. When he hung up seema's call, he told Meena ,the housekeeper of the farmhouse to look after piyu as he had to leave urgently and he drove off without a further adieu

He knew piyu considered Meena as her other grandma, so he didn't have to worry about piyu.

Entering the house he found his family with few others in the drawing room, the atmosphere was tense.

Everyone looked up, veer addressed his mom "mom kya hua. Bhabhi ne bataya ki subah se ananya mil nahi rahi?? Aapne mujhe ussi waqt inform kyu nahi kiya"??

Jaya -beta woh...

Before jaya could explain Ajay barked on veer , "you have the audacity to ask such questions. Ek toh khudd ke faide ke liye usse shaadi ki. Aur matlab nikal gaya toh uss bichari ki feelings ki kaddar kiye bina ,ghar chod ke chale gaye"

Veer didn't have the time for the blame game. At this moment , to get ananya back safely was important.

Veer spotted ACP Avinash Thakur among all , ignoring everyone , Veer and Avinash walked out of the room.

Veer frantically started enquiring about the actions taken to find Ananya .

Avinash- calm dowm beta, meri baat sunn...

Before he could complete the sentence his phone ranked, avinash answered

"ACP Thakur "after listening to caller "are you sure.fine we will double check" and he hanged up the phone.

Veer had his focus on avinash's conversation and he asked immediately "kya hua uncle"

"veer , on insistence of MR RAI , we investigated Ananya's mother and searched Khurrana bunglow. But we found nothing. Now my source informs me that Mukul is contacting his few of his colleagues to certify someone incompetent. I don't understand who... "

"but I do uncle I do understand " veer gritted ,his jaws clenched and his hand coiling into fists.
