Chapter 20
Arnav ran after Khushi worried at her reaction. She did not react like this instead she meted out this kind of treatment.
*I shouldn't have taken out my anger about my family on Khushi. It isn't her fault, if anything she is the victim in all this. I need to find her...where is she?*
He looked around the park area around the Gupta office. Looking here and there he noticed Khushi standing near a canopy style shed. He breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards her.
As he approached he noticed her crying uncontrollably. She seemed inconsolable.
"Khushi" he said softly trying to grab her attention. She quickly wiped her tears and started to act as if she was okay. She turned to leave and Arnav stood in front of her. He noticed her eyes were all red and puffed up with all the crying. He gulped feeling bad that he had made his Chamkili cry.
"Khushi..I.." He tried to apologise.
"No Mr Arnav Singh Raizada, you don't need to apologise...I am shocked...shocked that I let you get to me..Usually I shout like that but instead I got shouted at...this shocked me how could someone speak like that to me?...nothing major"
"Khushi...I don't usually be like this...something was on my mind and I took it out on you...I shouldn't have"
She tried smiling a little.
"Look at me...if my staff saw me like this they would think I have gone soft letting my fiance talk to me like that...after a very long time I thought I had found a friend in you...someone that could talk to me, help me forget my past"
"I am your friend" said Arnav softly.
She looked up touched but still annoyed at him.
"Laad Governor" she quipped under her breath and tears rolling down her face.
"Ya What?!" he said taken aback.
"You heard...after a very long time I felt like nothing. You know today is the death anniversary of my parents and I was trying not to feel depressed but hey look! I ended up crying. My real parents left me and I had to move with my uncle. He has given me all the love that one can ask for but one cannot fill the space of your real parents".
Arnav came a little close listening intently.
"I know Khushi...my parents died young too..."
She looked up and then chocked.
"You see me crying...I bet your shocked that how can Hitler Gupta weep like this? But all this is a charade to stop myself from getting hurt. I don't want any person to get close to me because every person I get close to I lose them..."
"That is not true Khushi"
"Yes it is...look my mum, dad AND ..." she paused and he knew she was talking about him.
"Never mind...why am I telling you this?" she tried to stop crying.
"Because I am your friend Khushi..." she looked up and he nodded his head.
"I am...you can trust me..." he said earnestly.
"I am tired...so tired of fighting with you Arnav Singh Raizada...now I started to see you as someone that can be there for me and you shouted at me"
"I'm sorry...I am REALLY sorry" he said sincerely. Khushi looked at him and they had an eye lock.
*Rabba Vey*
Khushi looked away and he gave her a handkerchief. Wiping away her tears she began half laughing and crying.
"I better go home I don't want my employees to see me like this" she said wiping away her mascara.
Arnav chuckled.
As she left he called her.
"Khushi...just remember I will always be there for you"
Khushi nodded her head and replied.
"Friends?"
"Friends" he replied with his hands in his pockets.

"Hello hi bye bye damad ji, let me pick my binoculars from the car we need to see them from afar...don't want to get caught now do we?"
Shyam made a face. He did not want to lose Arnav and Khushi.
"Hurry up Mami ji...Saale Saab asked Khushi ji to meet him here...they might go off somewhere and we will lose them"
"Don't fear Mami is here! Can you see them?"
Shyam looked around the park which was known for being a lovers spot. There was vast greenery, flowers and trees, which couples liked due to getting privacy.
"Look Mami, Khushi ji is sitting on that bench" he pointed at her. Mami got her binoculars out.
Dressed in a sky blue shalwar Kameez Khushi sat with her hand under her chin. One could tell she had been waiting for a very long time. Her face dropped and she looked around to see if Arnav had come.
"Seems like Saale Saab is not here" quipped Shyam.
Suddenly someone gave a red rose from behind to Khushi. Khushi smiled and took the rose and then made a annoying face.

Arnav: Pehle kabhi haan pehle kabhi na mera haal aisa huwa, meri neend gai chain khone laga, kuch toh hone laga, haan kuch hone laga(I never got into this state before, my sleep is lost and I have lost my peace, something has started to happen)
As he took her hand she got up and pushed him aside. He looked on frustrated she was not getting pacified. Suddenly Khushi turned and ran into his arms and he lifted her up. Shyam looked on seething and Mami looked embarrassed and hid behind a tree.
Khushi: Pehle kabhi haan pehle kabhi na mera haal aisa huwa, meri neend gai chain khone laga, kuch toh hone laga, haan kuch hone laga
Arm in arm they walked around the big pond. As they stopped they noticed Shyam and Mami looking through the branches. Then Khushi put her head on his shoulders. He looked at her lovingly.
Arnav: Pehli mohobhat ka ehsaas hain ye, kaise batao ke kya pyaas hain ye?(This is the realisation of first love, how can I say what kind of thirst it is?)
Khushi grabbed his collar and nuzzled onto his chest. Somehow she got lost in the 'acting' and felt in love with him.
Khushi: Kyoon dharakne laga kyon tarapne laga, koi sapna mera dil sajone laga, kuch toh hone laga...(Why has it started to beat why has it started to yearn, my heart has started to knit some dreams something has started to happen)
Arnav took his blazer and put it over Khushi's shoulders to stop her getting cold. She smiled and pulled his cheek. Forgetting the spies Arnav began looking at Khushi's moonlike face. She looked at her engagement ring and kissed it.
Khushi: Mehboob chahat ki rahon main mil ke, poore hue saare armaan dil ke(Darling by coming in your ways, my desires are fulfilled )
He pulled her close and back hugged her. Shyam and Mami came near the area and they pretended they did not see them. Arnav walking backwards and pushed Shyam out of the way and Khushi opened her arms to Arnav pushing Mami backwards.
Arnav: Ab sanam darmiya na rahe dooriya, teri zulfo talle main toh sone laga kuch toh hone laga... (There is no distance beloved now, I have started to sleep beneath your hair, something has started to happen).
Khushi pulled him near a tree and leaned against it with her back. He came near and put his arms around her waist.
Khushi: Pehle kabhi haan pehle kabhi na mera haal aisa huwa,
Khushi put her arms around his neck and looked at him lovingly.
Arnav: meri neend gai chain khone laga, kuch toh hone laga, haan kuch hone laga
He placed his head against hers. Mami took her bincolars out to see what they were doing.
Khushi: Kuch toh hone laga
He slid his arms around her back.
Arnav: Kuch toh hone laga(Something has started to happen)
Khushi moulded herself into his arms and snuggled him into a tight hug.
Khushi: Kuch toh hone laga
By now they were all over each other and it seemed they were making out.
"Chi chi chi" said Mami feeling embarrassed. "Damad ji you wanted me to witness this? Look how much they are into each other...lets go I've seen what I need to"
"But Mami..." he looked back and saw them clung to each other.
"Okay lets go..." he said reluctantly. After a few moments Arnav pulled away. Khushi had her eyes closed completely lost in the hug. He smiled seeing his Chamkili with closed eyes. He bought his mouth close to her ears.
"Khushi they are gone" he said huskily sending chills down her body. She opened her eyes and looked at him awkwardly.
"Shall we go home then?" she said changing the subject.
"Of course" he quipped trying to make her recover.

"You know damad ji I am not listening to you again...I mean we were spying on our own son...yuck!" said Mami unhappy about seeing her nephew love life being played out in front of her.
Shyam bared with all the Raizada family disappointed in his doubts.
"Shyam ji I told you before Arnav and Khushi are okay...now please let it rest..if Chotey finds out what we been doing he will be so angry...and you know his anger"
"Yes damad ji...I don't want any nonsense about Chotey and Khushi betiya" demanded Nani.
Shyam agreed not to pursue it any further. Akash and NK came down and joined the Raizada's for tea.
After a while Arnav walked in.
"Chotey you have come at the right time...we are serving tea" said Anjali.
"It's okay Di I have already had tea" he said sounding happy.
"Kya baat hain Arnav mere bhai...You had tea with Khushi ji right? Look nani he is already forgetting us..I wonder what he will be like after marriage" teased NK.
He rolled his eyes at NK dramatics.
"I still will be Arnav Singh Raizada" he said.
"No no no...I seen many big shots turn into mice in front of wife...and to be honest Khushi ji is very strict and demanding"
"NK behave stop winding chotey" said Nani chuckling.
"How was your date with bhabi?" asked Akash.
"Great" he said. "Look Di I need to finish some work I'll come down for dinner though"
Anjali nodded her head and gestured to her husband that look he is happy. Very happy.

Arnav, Khushi, Payal and Akash were having their last meeting before the show. The fine details needed to be sorted out.
"I want all of us to look professional...you know look smart...and sell our designs in every manner possible" said Arnav.
Khushi looked on admiring his English. He had such a sexy accent. Every word looked like music was coming through his mouth. Arnav carried on talking and she kept looking at him lost.
*I wish my Nannav is something like him* she prayed in her mind.
"Khushi...Khushi?!" he said breaking her trance.
"Hmmm?"
"What do you think?" he asked with a strange expression.
"Whatever you think is right" she answered knowing she had not listened to a thing he had said.
Payal looked on confused, this was not like her Mam. But then Akash gestured at his finger saying they are engaged. Payal smiled and mouthed. *How sweet*
"Ummhh sir what do you think I should wear?" asked Payal worried she might dress wrongly.
"It's up to you" he said.
"But what would you like to see?" asked Payal.
"If it was up to me all girls should wear shalwar kameez, anarkali and sari's...a woman should look feminine in my opinion"
Khushi looked at her clothes. She was wearing a white blouse with a navy skirt. Looking disappointed she thought so he does not think I look feminine?
After there discussion Khushi got on the phone and asked her designers to send her some traditional stuff to wear.
Arnav walked in to talk to Khushi about coming over for dilwali and what is expected from her.
"Khushi Nani wants you to come round ours for diwali tomorrow...she will ring uncle and aunty...so bring them with you"
Khushi pulled her skirt down slightly while she sat in case he thought it was too short.
"Okay...I will be there..."
Arnav began texting on his phone that Payal came in with a man. He had a rail full of clothes.
"What the!" he said.
"Mam...here are your clothes" she said and left them alone.
"Khushi what are these clothes for?"
"For me to wear" he looked on with scrunched eyebrows. "You said that you like girls who wear traditional clothes...and I being your fianc in pretence should be dressing the way you would like me to be...otherwise people will think we are pretending"
Arnav pressed his lips together trying to hide his smile.
"So Khushi Kumari Gupta is changing her dress sense just to please me?"
"Yes! I mean no! I just thought it will look more real if I dress the way you want me to...that's what most couples do right?"
He moved near the rail and looked at the clothes.
"In that case Khushi wear this red sari for tomorrow" he said handing the sari to her. She looked lost into his lava brown orbs.
"AND...keep your hair open"
"Okay Laad governor!" she said smiling.

Khushi came home with all her clothes and sat down with her Ma to show them to her. Samita Devi looked at her face which was full of excitement.
"Beti I'm really happy that you are changing yourself for Arnav beta...this is what I wanted all along for you to mellow down slightly"
Khushi stopped and thought.
"Ma have I changed?"
"Well not totally! But I can see how slowly you are developing Arnav's beta's likes and dislikes"
Khushi looked on worried was she really changing for him or just to put up with the act?
"Khushi beta...come and give your dad a hug...I am so proud of you" said Mr Gupta.
"I just been told thanks to Arnav helping us out the show has sold all the tickets within hours"
"Really dad?" said Khushi happy.
"Yes...all the girls are coming to see Arnav beta"
Khushi felt a tug at her heart. The show was about selling their designs not about girls meeting Arnav. All throughout the night she felt a suppressed anger at her fianc being the attention of young girls. She did not know why she felt that way but she did.
