After YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2, Bobby Deol to turn producer with CHEERS
By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial
So far it has been Dharmendra followed by Sunny Deol who have been active in production aspect of their films. Now, Bobby Deol has decided that he too would be much more involved in production than before and be much more hands-on."It is a known fact that Bobby is the LAADLA of the family and though he is forty plus, the fact remains that he is still the youngest of the Deols. Whenever the family has produced films, he has been involved but not to as much extent as Sunny. Of course Dharamji can't be expected to do all the running around but he does aid in creative decision making. On the other hand Sunny has ensured smooth making of the films. That has been the case with YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2 as well which has been nurtured by Sunny right from inception. Now it is time for Bobby to enter the arena," says a common friend.
Though it won't be a change of hands per se, the transition would begin from CHEERS which would go on floors immediately after YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA 2.
"Yet again it is an all-family affair with the same director, Sangeeth Sivan," the friend adds, "Bobby is already gearing up for the added responsibility and is mighty excited."
"Yes, I am getting involved in production and handling CHEERS. It is a double responsibility of course as I have to act as well as producer. Looking at my brother who has managed to do it so many times, I am all charged up as well. I have to step in for him now as it's all in the family," smiles Bobby.
For an actor who has been around for just short of two decades in the industry, this could well turn out to be a transitional phase for Bobby.

The cast of forthcoming movie "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" (YPD 2) had to call off their scheduled promotional activity here due to the crowd that had gathered here to meet and greet the stars. Dharmendra and his sons - Sunny and Bobby - came to promote their movie in a mall here Tuesday, but they had to leave due to security concerns. Neha Sharma and Kristine Akheeva and director Sangeeth Sivan were also there and the cast and crew were amazed to see the teeming throng of people in the jam-packed mall. As it was not easy to control the excited fans, the "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" team left without completing the promotion activity. Even though Dharmendra and Sunny requested the audience to calm down, their words fell on deaf ears. The event had been organised by radio station 104.8 FM as Dharmendra is part of their campaign - "Yamla Baba Ka Darbaar" - where the veteran actor was supposed to answer queries from the audience. The film is coming out June 7. SRC |
