CHAPTER 14
Taani:" REYYY!!!"
His hand stucked in the air at the moment. He looked at her. She nodded in no with teary eyes. But, suddenly, her expression changes in shocked.
Rahul was standing there with a bottle. Rey turned to Rahul. Rey was not ready. Rahul took the chance of it. He wanted to break the bottle on Rey's head. But, Rey defeated and it got broken on his arm. Rey was also injured. His shirt was tore.
He pushed Rahul and Rahul fall on ground. He started kicking her. Taani came to him and stopped him. Rey pulled her closer and warned Rahul.
Rey:" Iske aas pass bhi dikha na.. Tu zinda nhi bachega.."
He was again going to beat him. But, Taani stopped him and pulled him to towards the bunglow.
Taani was struggling to pull him towards the bunglow. Finally, They entered in bunglow.
Rey looked towards his hand which Taani was holding. Taani was looking at him with hurt and worried expression. As he shifted his gaze on his hand, she also looked at their hands and realized that she was holding his hand.Quickly, she left his hand and looked at another side. Rey looked up to her..He wanted to talk to her But.. he closed his eyes...Calmed himself and without uttering a word he started stepping towards his room.
As, he turned... Taani looked at him... Till than he reached at the door of his room. He stopped there and looked at her sideways..
"We will leave tomorrow from here. I don't want to work on this project anymore."
She looked at him with shocked expression.
"But?"
But, he interupted..
"This is my last and final decision.."
He sounded very serious. She just nodded and he went in his room and closed the door.
There was slience... pin drop silence... Taani was just glued at the place where she was standing. She was rewinding the incident...
Rahul hold her hand... then, he started pulling her... Rey came and rescue her... The fight... and the every scene of the fight started flashing in front of her eyes... Rahul punched Rey.. Again.. Rey.. then.. Rahul broke the bottle on Rey's arm... Every scratch.. every wound of him was hurting her... giving her pain. She closed her eyes... tears dropped from her closed eyes... She opened her eyes... and glance at the direction of his room... She gulped some saliva and wiped her tears... nodded to herself and ran in kitchen.
Rey's whole body was paining. He never lost his temperature. But, for the first time...For the first time..in his entire life... He fought with someone.. like a wild animal... He walked in washroom and started looking the scratches on his face. He splashed some water on his face. He looked in mirror...
"Why I was sure that she will look at me when I left her without saying a word?Why??"
He paused.
"Why she is so special for me?"
He questioned this question.. repeatedly.
"Why I stopped, when she took my name?"
He remembered..When.. He was about to punch him on Rahul's face. But, she shouted.
"REYY!!"
"Why I felt so much happy, when she called me by my name? Why??"
He was engrossed in his deep thinking. But, soon.. his thinking chain was broken by knock. He came to his sense and heard knock on door. He didn't want to recieve it...As, he was tired.
"Jo bhi hain... baad mein aao.." He yelled.
After yelling, no-one knocked. He sighted and again started doing his work. But, this time.. he heard voice of opening door.
"What the hell.. Who entered in my room.." He wiped his face by towel.
He opened the door of the washroom and found Taani there.. She was doing something..He couldn't see what she was doing.. her back was facing him.
"Tum yaha..??"
She heard his voice. She bit her lower lips by upper lips with nervousness. She looked down and checked the tray and turned.
"Woh.."
He looked at her with questioning look. She looked down and looked here and there...
He was staring at her.. As..she was not answering. Suddenly, his gaze stopped on the table..on which she was doing something.. few minutes before. He found there first-aid box and other stuff. He understood..why she was there.
"See... I will manage.." He said.
Taani looked up to him with confusion..
"Huh!!"
Rey again replied.. "I will manage..Don't worry...I am very strong.." and he moved his arm...and it started paining.
"Oh.. shiitt.." He said in pain.
She took the tray and came near him.
" I can see.. How much you can manage.."
They both sat on edge of the bed. Rey looked at her. He felt something different in her tone. It was not her usuall tone. Something was different. She was not looking at him. She took cotton and started cleaning his palm which had scratches with mud and soil.
He was looking at her and trying to read her face.
She was just doing her work... But... Finally, he got it. She was angry and upset because he fought...
Rey(in mind):" Ohh... Godd!!! Girls... Ugghh.. But...I think.. I should take it carefully.. as she is disturbed too. I should handle the situation very carefully."
Till than, Taani was done with cleaing his palm...She applied some cream on it and started cleaning his wound which was cause by bottle.
She was cleaning it. Suddenly, by mistake... she pressed cotton on wound with little force...
Rey clinched in pain. She quickly removed the cottton.
"Aap..thik toh hain?? Are you okay??? Is it paining so much?? I am sorryy.."
Rey was trying to calm her..But she was getting more hyper.
"It's okay..." He said with a soft voice..but little loud.Taani stopped panicking and looked at him with expression which was asking "Really??"
"It's okay..It's not hurting that much.." He said... with assuring look. She nodded and very carefully placed the cotton and again started to cleaning it.
He was looking at her. She was really doing it very carefully.. she was taking care that it didn't pain him more.
Her every movment...He was catching... She was changing the cotton after time. He was observing her every expression... But..every expression was same. Care...worried... little bit hurt...after watching his scratches...He didn't want to see those expressions on her face.. He couldn't take it anymore.
She was done with bandaging the wound. He took his hand back. She quickly looked up to him..
" Ho gaya.. I am fine." He said.
She was not convieniced.
"Really?? Are you sure??" She asked him with worried sense.
He was not liking that she was worrying so much.
"Yes... I am fine." He said with little rude.
Taani sense it... She nodded. She started arranging the mess in tray. Here, Rey stood up. But he again cliched in pain. As, he had wound on his back.
Taani looked up to him and stood up in hurry.
"What happened??"
"No..Nothing.." He tried to ignore the question. But, she stayed firm.
"Ohh.. Really! What did you say? I am fine...Now.. why you screamed??"
"I didn't scream... I just clinched in pain..."
"That means.. You have pain somewhere.."
He was caught. Now, he couldn't help but nodded in yes.
"Where??" She asked while looking at his face with straight face.
He signled at his back. As he signled, he again clinched in pain. Wound was near shouled back bone. Her straight face was turned into worried one. She just nodded and looked down and started coming towards him.
Her each forwarding step was raising his heart pumping. His could feel that his heart was doing work so much fast.. She was still looking down...She placed his hand little down from shoulder and asked.
"Yaha..." She little looked up but again looked down completely.
He was just looking at her. He nodded in NO. She understood as she was looking at him from corner of his eyes.
She slide her hand little down..again asked, "Yaha??".
He said, "No." without shifting his gaze on her.
This time she came forward and slide her hand more.and asked, "Yaha??"
This time he didn't answer her as he was just looking at her. Her whitish and soft skin was having a really nice fragrance.
His hand atomatically came and stopped on her waist. His hand was on her waist. She looked towards him. They were very close to each other. He could read the hurt and worries in her eyes...seeing him in this condition.
"Nahi.." He answered.
She slide her hand little sideways near to wound and this time it hurts. As, she reached there... Rey clinched in pain. She took her hand back.
Both came to their sense and found each other very close. Taani started taking heavy breaths.. Rey took one step back.
"Look...Taani..I am ok. It's just a little one.." He said to make her comfortable and divert the situation.
"Nahi.." But, she quickly said with little bit angry and worried mixed tone.
"Taani..I am saying.." He tried to say but no use.
"Mujhe dekhne dijiye.." She said in pleading manner.
"Taani..leave it. Tum darr jaogi.." He said with a bit irritation.
"Mujhe darr nahi lagega..because.." She said looking into his eyes. But, soon recovered.
"So..please dekhne dijiye.." She said.
He couldn't find any other way and agreed. She turned and started picking the cotton and all things.
Rey turned and faced mirror and removed his T-shirt. Taani turned and looked at Rey. She quickly looked down. Rey saw it from mirror. She came near him with cotton and cream tube.
She stared cleaning it..This wound was really serious one. She looked at him...Tears were about to form in her eyes.. But as soon as Rey saw Taani..She controlled herslef. She straighten her hand. Rey looked a mark on Taani's wrist from mirror.. He turned and grabbed her hand. She couldn't understand.
He observed the mark and looked at her. She gulped some saliva and tried to not to look at him. The mark was cause by Rahul as he grabbed her wrist when she was walking.
She took her hand back and indicated him through eyes that let me see it. He just glared at her and turned.She started cleaning it.
"Uss.. Rahul ko toh aur marna chaiye tha.." He murmured to him. But, Taani heard it. She stopped her work and looked at him. Rey understood that she had heard everything.
She glared at him and started applying cream.
Rey scolded himself in his mind.
" What was the need to say it in front of her?"He cursed himself.
Now, she took roll of cloth of cotton. She came and stood sideways... She placed one end of the roll on his shoulder and stared wrapping it to give comfort and heal the wound.
He was just looking at him. Finally, he decided to talk to her.
"Taani.."... But she moved little and continued.
"Taani.." She turned her head back to see the strip on his back.
He tried to talk to her. But, she ignored him.
She took last round of strip and fixed it and was about to go. He stopped her by extending straight hand in front of her. She was about to move. But, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him.
Now.. It was killing him that she was not talking to him..Not responding him... Not looking at him. She was ignoring her.
He pulled her towards. Still, he was holding her wrist. He placed his another hand on his waist so that she could not move.
" Isme naraz hone ki kya baat hain?? Why are you upset with me??"He asked her while glaring.
She didn't move a single line on her face. He pulled her more closer to him.
" I asked you.. why are you upset with me??"
She pushed him.
"Because you hurt yourself damn it.."She blurted out.
"What?? I just saved you from that jerk..and I don't care if I get hurt.." He said.
"But, I care.." She said cutting him with teary eyes.
"Why??" He came with a sudden question.
Silence occupied some time.She didn't have a answer.
"Come on tell me.."He stretched the question again.
" I don't know..." She said.. In her thinking.
"Why?? What?? You don't have an answer??" He asked aggressively.
"Then, why the hell you care if I get hurt??" She asked while looking at him.
He looked at her with a blank expression. He also didn't have an answer.
She couldn't take it anymore and ran out of the room. He was standing there with silence.
