FILM FEST

Celebrating film sound

The Film Federation of India and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Alliance Francaise, Suchitra Film Society, Max Mueller Bhavan, the National Film Archives, Farishta, World Space and the Department of Information, Tourism, Kannada and Culture are celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Indian Talkies under the title of "75 Years of Sound" from December 8 - 14.

The inaugural function will be held at 6.30 pm on December 8 at the Lavanya theatre on St John's Road. The National Film Archives will showcase an exhibition for the occasion on Saturday at the Alliance Francaise.

An audio/visual presentation attended by vintage music directors and renowned musicologists of the Indian Talkies will be held at the AFB from December 10 - 13, according to a release.

A selection of films representative of the musical richness of Indian Talkies from the early days, will be screened at Badami House and Suchitra Film Society from December 8 - 14. The valedictory function will be held at 6.30 pm at the Elgin Talkies
