There was silence in the Khan Mansion, which was quite unusual with Zoya's presence with her silly shayris. For a change there was silence as she had gone to the boutique to fetch her dress which she will be wearing tomorrow for her mehandi function. And still he had not said his feelings, he thought.
"Waise hi tanveer wali baat se Miss Farruqi bahut pareshaan hai, par ammi ne mere dil ki baat kahne ke liye mujhe sirf aaj ki raat tak ka wakt diya hai." He said to himself in a very confused manner, until najma interrupted his proposal thoughts.
"Bhaijaan, aapne kitne dino se koi gaana nahi gaya. Aur aaj toh humne dinner bhi jaldi kar liya hai. Please ek gaana gaiye naa, aapke nikaah ki khushi mai" Najma pleaded. Tanveer to added, "Ha Jammy, gaiye naa." She said with such a sugary tone that Asad could easily have diabetes.
"Agar Najma ki itni iccha hai toh tumhe gaana chahiye Asad." Dilshaad said in a firm voice.
"theek hai ammi, aap kahti hai toh." He mumbled and left to fetch his guitar. And at the same time, Zoya entered with such a chirpy voice when she saw that no one noticed her entering. And she sort of announced, "Mera Ghaghra aa gaya!" and of course, startling everyone. With the same bubbling excitement and chirpiness, Najma went to her and said, "dekhao na Zoya. Mai ammi ko bhi dikha deti hu."
"theek hai lo. Waise bhi mai iss ghaghre mai madhuri dixit ke ghaghra wale song se zyada acchii dikhne wali hu." She replied confidently. "Aur kyu nahi dikhegi, meri Zoya hai hi itni khubsoorat.." said Dilshaad which was followed by a group hug.
After the hug, Zoya said, "accha phuphi mai isko ek bar try karke aati hu. Waise toh yeh mere measurements lekar hi silvaya hai, par phir bhi." On which Dilshaad nodded a yes, of course with a sweet smile.
And as such a bad timing they both have, the same moment zoya went in her room and asad came out with his guitar. And he sat on the stool and waited till everyone could settle down on the couches. Then he closed his eyes, and began to sing a song which reminded him of his…… Zoya.
Ek din kabhi jo khud ko talaashe

Just then his Zoya entered. For him she looked the best creation created by Allah. He was just so overwhelmed by her beauty, her grace, her smile, her poignancy and her…….. Love. He could not just control himself so he sang with a mixture of emotions-

"lagta hai ki bhaijaan specially Zoya ke liye yeh gaana gaa rahe hai. Zoya, tumhe bhi kuch gaana chahiye bhaijaan ke liye." She suddenly said and giggled, leading a series of laughs, including a small smile from asad's side.
"Mashallah Zoya, tumne toh mujhe chauka diya. Mujhe toh pata hi nahi tha ki meri bahu itni sundar bhi dikh sakti hai." Said Dilshaad with a hug. Well zoya was speechless on all these questions, especially asad's smile which she had seen. So she blushed, left with no other option. Then asad continued to sing when everyone patiently sat again to listen.
Meri khamoshi se baatein chun lena
Unki dori se taarifein bun lena
"Mr. khan mujhe dekh kar kyu gaa rahe hai? Kya jo Najma ne kaha…. Nahi . par inke aakho mai jo emotions mai dekh rahi hu who kaunse hai. Na jane kya sochte rehte hai. Na breakup karte hai na apni baat bolte hai 'Woh… actually…' ko chod kar. chalo mai sabko aur mere Mr. Khan ko ek surprise… nahi mai sabko aur Mr. Khan ko surprise dungi. Allah Miya, What's wrong with me? Mr. Khan mere kab se ho gaye? " she thought with a strange look on her face, looking at which even asad smiled.
Meri khamoshi se baatein chun lena
Unki dori se taarifein bun lena
"Now it's my turn" she said to herself and began to…. sing. In a beautiful and a petite voice..
Kal nahi thi jo
aaj lagti hoon
Taareef meri hai khaamakha
Tohfa hai tera
meri adaa
Everyone, including asad , was surprised. But they both, singing. But it just sounded so…..perfect. And he more happily began to sing-
Ek din kabhi jo khud ko pukaare
Meri zubaan se tu zara, haaye re
Tujh mein chhupi si jo shayari hai
Tujhko sunaaun main zara, haay re
Ye do dilon ka waasta waasta
Khul ke bataaya jaaye naa

everybody clapped. Zoya thought "shayad yeh mera lucky day hai." While Asad thought, "mein unhe aaj raat ko hi sab bata dunga."
And now for Zoya, many surprises were yet to come.
