CHAP FIVE

He looked through the glass containing his drink. The drink had filled half of the glass while it had kept it half empty. God knows how much he had drunk before. But to everyone's luck he was still in his senses. Everything seemed to have absorbed the color of his drink. Even he wanted to drown himself in it. It was as if his life had lost its meaning. For whom he was living? For what he was living? He was lost. His life was aimless he felt.

Uday's POV:

Huh… bade asanise humne humari princess ko jaane diya. Aisa kaise kiya Uday? Jaane se pehle ek baar bhi wo 3 lafz nahi keh paye. Itni bhi himmat nahi dikha paye. Manyata to apni zindagi me ab set hogayee hain. Dheere dheere hume bhool bhi jayegi. Usme aisa kitna waqt lagega. Humari zindagime sirf hum bachenge. Na pyaar, na khushi, na maza, na hasi. Ye sab rang, ras, jazbaat to humare zindagime Manyatane hi bhare the. Ab jaha tasveer banana wala hi maujood na ho, waha us panne pr kya zindagi ubhar ayegi. Hum to bas ek panna hain. Mujhe sajane wali to Manyata hain. Uske bina hume to koi keemat hi nahi. Khair ab bahot der ho chuki hain. Kuch nahi ho sakta.

(I suppose wrote it in too pure Hindi to understand. Now I think I shud give a translation:

Wow. With great ease I let go off my princess. Ho wcould u do this Uday? U couldn't show a little courage? Now soon Manyata will be all set in her life. Soon she will forget me. It will be only me in my life then. No love, no happiness, no fun, no humour. All these colours and emotions were filled by Manyata. Now where the artist is missing, how will life emerge on the paper? I am just a piece of paper. Manyata is the one who decorates me. I have no value without Manyata. Now let it be its too late. Nothing can be done.)

He just was so engrossed in his thought that he just failed to realize that he had already started sobbing. He was lost, lost in the deserted roads of love; where he had no one to lean on, where he was left alone by the one and only person who could show him the right path – Manyata. Nah, she hadn't done it on purpose. Even she was oblivious to the fact that Uday was lost – her true Uday.

Suddenly the door opened. But Uday just didn't realize. He was in his own world- his & Manyata's world

"I know my dada, I know he is truly, madly, deeply (reminds me of u Shahi. Well hope u have no issues if I just borrow ur title to show how Uday's condition is) in love with Manyata. My mad mad mad bro, doesn't even realize such a simple fact. How come even Manyata doesn't realize this. aisa hi hota hain pyaar me? It's so weird. Dada se is baare me bat karni hi hogi" Unnati made a mental note as she drove home.

The servant took the key from Unnati and informed that their Yuvraaj sa was in his room.

Unnati made a short run to his room. She knocked on it for much long but there was no response. So finally she said a low "sorry dada, but now I have to open the door without your permission" confession and opened the door.

There he was. Hunch-backed, resting himself on the drinks counter on the new chair he had ordered specially for the tiny bar in his huge room.

"dada…" she said coming before him. "ye kya kar rahe hain aap. Yaad hain Manyatane jaate jaate aapse promise liya tah that u will not drink. Whats this…" she said as she pointed towards the numerous glasses on the table.

"na rahi Manyata na uska waada. Manyata humari zindagise khud bahr chali gayee hain aur uske peeche peeche uska waada. So…" he said as he drank the drink in one go, "I can DRINK" he said forcing on the word 'drink'. "Oh please dada aise behave mat kijiye jaise Manyata ko zindagise nikalana is your baye haat ka khel. U can never ever do it. And don't protest. Ye aap chahe puri duniya ko cheekhke keh sakte hain, but not to yourself, me or even Manyata. Hume ye baat pichle ek do mahinose khayee ja rahi hain. I really think that aap Manyatase bahot…"

"Chotti" Uday said as he hugged his chotti's belly. She was standing right before and he hugged her really tightly. It was for the first time Uday had done such a thing. "I love Manyata, hum uske bina nahi reh sakte." Unnati really had seen such a Uday for the first time. He was so weak and feeble.

"I knew dada. Aapne ye baat usase ya fir even humse kyun chupayi. U could have told atleast me. Why dada?" unnati said freeing herself from Uday's grip. She pulled a chair from the side and herself sat on it. "dada ye aapne khudka kya haal kr diya hain. Aisa nahi karte" Unnati said wiping off the tears from Uday's cheek. "Chotti kaise batata use. I respect Manyata's each and every decision. Mujhe uske decisions ke beech nahi ana. Use zindagi Akash ke saath bitani hain to bitane do" Uday said being a bit firm. "pr dada, she just didn't knew your side. If she knew might be she would have changed her decision. U never know!" Unnati said. suddenly it dawned on Uday, why didn't he think of this possibility before. Why was he behaving like a dumbo? Was he getting too much jasbaati? "I think dada aapko Manyata ko jaake bata dena chahiye everything" she continued. "nahi, wo shaadi shuda hain. I don't want to do such a thing." Uday said still pressing down his heart n trying to prove he is not jasbaati. "pr dada…" his choti tried to protest. But cutting in between, Uday said "that's all for today. Khaana humare room me bhijwa dena." She sighed n left the room leaving a puzzled a confused Uday behind. "Que sera sera" was the only solution to the terrible condition thought both Unnati and Uday.

"Uday, aur pyaar, wo bhi mujhse? Huh, doesn't sound right" Manyata said to herself as she wrapped up her kitchen work. She hadn't faced Akash yet. "kyun aayi thi Unnati?" asked Akash as he walked from behind. "wo kuch nahi riyaasat ke kaam me kuch ek problem tha, so wo poochne aayi thi" Manyata said trying to shoo Akash away. "then why didn't she want to let me here what u were talking?" Akash said. "because its confedential. And u aren't a royal nor a devgarh recident either(lowest qualification might be to know riyaasat work) to know about it" Manyata was sickof Akash now. "but I am devgarh's jamai sa" Akash protested trying to include himself somewhere in the family photograph. "will u just shut ur mouth? U aren't blue blooded and now mera sar mat khao I am already fed up" she said banging a vessel. Akash made a quite exit.

"yeah Uday loves u. isilye to chawl me aya sirf tumse milne keliye. Kya kya nahi kiya usne. Bed ke neeche jaake chupa bhi (she laughed a bit)" said Manyata's one side.

"nah he doesn't love u. pyaar karta to pehle bata deta itni himmat hain usme. Wo to pakka khiladi hain" said another side

"ughh why I am thinking about it!" she said as she switched off kitchen lights and made her way to the bedroom. She looked at the sleeping Akash. She picked up the pillow and comforter and went outside. She was in no mood to share a bed with him after his overreaction. She just wasn't able to decide what Akash's role was in her life. She felt she wanted to get away from him.

AFTER A WEEK

"Akash" Manyata said suddenly "mujhe maike jaana hain" she ended. "jao. Kal hi jao. U need a change." Akash sighed.

She ran towards the bedroom to get her phone. Immediately, she dialed rajmahal's number. "Devgarh rajmahal" seema ji said as she received the phone. "seema ji, hum yuvraani baat kr rahe hain" said Manyata happily. "ji yuvraani sa…" seema ji tried to be as plain as possible but her voice told how happy she was. "ji kaisi hain aap?" asked Manyata. "ji ab…" seema ji just wasn't able to understand how to react to her highness's question "hum theek hain" she said. "aur baki sab staff members?" asked Manyata. "jee wo bhi theek hain" answered seema ji. "great! Ghar me sab hain?" asked Manyata. Today after the lunch, whole family was sitting in the living room and having a nice talk. J, Vijay, Menaka, Komal, Brijraj and DS, all were there. "ji haan. Sab yahi hain" seema ji said passing a glance towards the happy family. "toh umm…" Manyata said as she thought, "J ko please phone dijiye. Aur haan, use ye mat batana ke humara phone hain. Just tell ke aapko call aya hain" said Manyata. Seema ji agreed. "Rajkumari sa, aapkeliye phone aya hain" she informed. J took the phone making a curious face. "hello" she answered. "J…" Manyata said. "JIJI" came the loudest ever squeal from J n Manyata was damn sure within a few minutes of talk with J, Manyata will have to put on a hearing aid.
