I don't know if this is true or not. BO figures aren't my forte but if it is, congratulations to the leads and the entire team for joining this coveted club. It's always nice to see underdogs winning it big at the BO...to me anyway. 👍🏼

Mohit Suri's musical saga is the latest to join the coveted club
Aashiqui 2, the musical love story starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was made at a budget of Rs 9 crore and released on April 26. Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films is elated as the movie has had a successful two-month run at the box office, grossed Rs 100 crores and Bhatt says they have set a trend with the film. "I am very happy because I am the only producer who has given biggest blockbusters with newcomers' As a producer what can give me more joy than that," Bhatt said.
Bhushan Kumar, Managing Director, T-Series, is rejoicing too. "With the blessing of my father Gulshan Kumarji and under the able guidance of Bhatt (Mahesh) saab and the dynamic pre-release efforts of my T-Series team in a limited period of three weeks,Aashiqui 2 has become a new landmark film with relatively new faces in the 100th year of Indian cinema," said Kumar.
With a budget of Rs 10 crore and Rs 8 crore for print and publicity respectively, the Mohit Suri film has collected Rs 75 crore nett and Rs 100 crore gross as per trade figures. "In the 100th year of Indian cinema, Aashiqui 2 a 9 crore film has soared into the 100 crore universe," Mahesh Bhatttweeted.
