Yesterday's episode only drove home the point that irrespective of the scene and the dialogues it is the ability of the actors to act out the scene as conceived is what warms the hearts of viewers. IQ and Pallavi are extremely good actors who, I feel, feed off each other's acting skills. They compliment each other so well that their chemistry really rocks on the scene. Just an intense stare into each other's eyes can make the viewers' heart go 'dap dap dap dap'. Shiv may be saying he does not love Gauri but his eyes say something different. In fact the two of them do not require dialogues to convey their feelings. Both are such power actors with just their eyes.
On the other hand yesterday Shiv mouthed passionate dialogues to Ipshi, conveying his love. The setting was romantic, full moon, tall palm trees, breeze etc. But alas it fell flat because his partner could not respond in equal measure. This, in turn, led to a slump in his performance and the whole scene was looking so empty and sounding so hollow. It underlines the fact that no actor, however great he is ,can pull off a romantic scene without reciprocal performances from his co-star.
Hope the new Shiv is as good a performer as Pallavi. Otherwise it would be difficult to hold the interest of viewers, especially with this extra-marital thing going on.
