IPL 6 finale : CSK vs MI

After 72 matches, 2 Qualifier matches and one Eliminator, it is time for the Grand Finale ofIPL Season 6. Yes, we are talking about the Finals between the two teams who have managed to reach the finals. To find out the winner of IPL 6, the audiences will have to wait till 26th May.
There is no doubt that the audiences will be glued to their television sets to witness the battle of the top 2 teams. But this is not stopping other television shows to make their presence felt, as mentioned in out previous post "With IPL 6 headed towards finale, Tv shows are leaving no stone unturned to keep the audiences hooked!"So who do you think will have the last laugh? Well, it will be interesting to see the TRP ratings once this is over.
Coming back to the Final match of IPL Season 6. Chennai Super Kings have been know to be one of the most consistent teams in IPL. And they have proved it with winning twice and entering into the finals on 4 occasions. They have been the favorites every year since the inception of the tournament. They were also the first Indian team to have won the Champions League Twenty20.
On the other hand Mumbai Indians has never won IPL, but have managed to be Runners-Up in 2010. Not to forget that they won the 2011 Champions League Twenty20. But do you think they can beat the best team to win their 1st IPL? Well, it will be an interesting final between the Champion team CSK and the team which want to get their hands on the 1stIPL title, Mumbai Indians.
Here are some interesting stats that might interest you:
- Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys winning % of 61.70 – 58 wins, 36 losses and one no-result game out of 95 played.
- Hussey is the second batsman after Virat Kohli to register six fifties at the IPL 2013.
- For the first time in an IPL season, two batsmen have managed 700 runs – the first being Chris Gayle – 708 (ave. 59.00) in 16 matches.
- Dwayne Smith's 21-ball fifty (his quickest at the IPL) is the third quickest at the IPL 2013.
- Bravo, with 28 wickets at an average of 16.25 in 17 matches, has equalled Lasith Malinga's tally of 28 at 13.39 in 16 matches in 2011. Both share a bowling record – most wickets in an IPL season.
- Mumbai Indians won the 2011 Champions League Twenty20 after beating IPL rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore by 31 runs in the final.
- Smith's strike rate of 242.85 is the highest by any batsman against Chennai at theIPL (minimum fifty).
- Hussey (732 runs) and James Faulkner (28 wickets) have 'Orange' and 'Purple' Cap respectively.
- Lasith Malinga (4-0-45-0) has produced his worst IPL performance, surpassing the 4-0-42-0 against Rajasthan at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 20, 2011.
