It's a myth that acting can only be displayed by showy pretentious roles of autistics or blind people or prostitutes etc. Acting simply is inhabiting a character, and depending on your role, you would require different levels of skills, and techniques to achieve that. So, in essence, flowerpot roles do require acting. Most of my favorite performances are there where acting techniques are not visible, and one can effortlessly become a character.
Flowerpot roles do require a bit of acting, though I am not sure if Katrina is the best in the department. I think the traditional Bollywood heroines were all great in such roles.
Sonam despite her looks do not look great in flowerpot roles, but Vidya is by far the worst.
