And Husna, I've been thinking exactly the same thing... Sacrifice is the second best finale to Swan Song. You know how you watch some episodes, you like them but after some time you forget them... Finales are a little harder to forget just because they are the final episodes of the season. However, mediocre finales just stay fresh for a bit but then we forget them too. It's been so long but I still remember every single scene of Swan Song, it's as fresh as when I saw it and I think the same's going to be true with Sacrifice. No matter how much time goes by, I doubt I'll forget these two episodes.

Exactly, exactly! To be honest, I do remember all the finale episodes well but none other Swan Song had that impact on me. Not saying the others weren't good, but because of the reasons you stated, Swan Song wasn't easy to forget. And now, next to it is Sacrifice.

Epicsode (epic episode) is a term coined by Russ Hamilton, the location manager of Supernatural. And I think this one word describes it best.

Oh yes, that's such an appropriate term to describe it.

@L : I never said I didn't expect it. I know its a tradition they have always followed. What I meant was, it always leaves me teary-eyed. And of course yes, All Hell Breaks Loose (P1/P2) has been amazing too, but I that'd come third on my list. Swan Song had that impact on me which none of the finale's ever did until now, with Sacrifice.

@L - I agree with Husna. All Hell Breaks Loose P2 was pretty epic and tugged at my heartstrings but Swan Song is one episode that was just flawless from the beginning to the end. I don't think I've ever been as emotionally invested in an episode as I was in Swan Song. Considering how absolutely nuts I am over Supernatural, that is saying something. Sacrifice comes second.
