Zoya sat with her plate of food outside the Khan Mansion, in the garden. She silently ate and thought. About what? She had no idea. But she was glad that her tears had
now dried off. Her eyes were dry and her appetite was dead. She only ate so that her Aapi did not suspect anything.
Asad stood at his window and glanced at the lonely figure in his garden, eating solemnly. She was afraid of fire, she had faced it all alone. She had seen her mother
catch fire and burn to death. He couldn't even imagine thinking that way about his Ammi! But she had seen it, felt it. And as usual he had judged her before clearing
his doubts. Doubt? Heck, he never had a doubt when something ever went wrong. He would be sure that it was Zoya's fault. And when something good happened, Zoya was the
last person he thought could be the cause of it. What is wrong with me? Why am I so unavailable? So emotionally challenged?
Unknowingly a tear slipped out of his eye. Did he deserve her? Would he ever be able to trust her? Everytime she would make him aware of a bad omen in time, but he
would choose to ignore it until he'd lost her or hurt her. That's what I meant when I told Ammi we were so different. She was so..so good. And me? I was extremely
wrong. Bad, if I was allowed to use the word. I don't have the guts to confess nor do I have the strength to let her go. I want to keep her with me forever but at the
same time not change myself or my ways of living.
Tanveer was doing well now. She was recovering faster than expected. But he couldn't help and wonder, how didn't she get any burn marks? He chose to ignore it for the
time being. He tried to take a step and move towards her, trying to pacify her. Tell her that he was there. But he was tongue-tied. What would he say? He's apologized
to her at least 10 times in these 2 days and all she said was it's okay. But she had stop conversing altogether. He had told her to stay away from Tanveer so she
hadn't made an effort to pry on her. She ate alone and sat alone. She would get up and go if Asad and Tanveer would walk in. Wow. He really had committed a big crime.
Only 3 days were left for the Nikah. But now the excitement was getting replaced by fear and pain. Would he ever be able to understand me? It would be too late if they
got married and he wouldn't change. She sighed and decided to get up. Allah Miyan would help her, rescue her. As much as she felt attached to Asad, she knew he
probably wasn't the right one for her. Allah Miyan would make the decision for her. He would decide her Destiny.
Asad saw her get up and walk inside the house. He closed his eyes and composed himself one last time. It was time for Tanveer's medicine, she needed him. And Zoya? His
heart yelled. She needs me too. But he's never been there for her when she needed him. He wiped his tears and walked out of his room. Tomorrow he would make changes.
To his life, his ways and his emotional unavailability. He would change. He would make Zoya fall in love with him. He would be the man of her dreams.
