I'm quite the critic and usually dubbed the basher and I'm not saying this is show is perfect but...

It's everything I want to see in a show. There's isn't anything I hate about it, and that never happens.😆 I don't think I've fangirled about a female fictional soap character before. Actresses yes, but a character never. Because they were all so mellow and insecure and all those things. Those qualities were glorified and shown as 'feminine' qualities. And it turned me off.

But Kumud.

I love her so much. No I'm not some biased fangirl from Jennifer's previous show(in fact never saw the bit's with her in it), I'm saying it because the characterization is so perfect and ofc Jennifer's doing a fabulous job of it.

I love a female character who's sassy and has attitude and confidence and all those qualities that women have today... that they want to have.

She's educated, she doesn't let anybody give her s*, she takes charge, she works for a living, she can help her father in his work... multi-talented, this is how women are these days. Ofc I can't generalize and say all Indian women are like that but the people I know certainly are. Maybe this is a city thing, i don't know. The fact that Kumud is in fact shown to be village bred is so inspirational and something women can look up to.

We don''t get characters we can look up to on television and Kumud brakes that stereotype.

I'm not saying she isn't flawed. She has her ego and sharp tongue but I do too and all of us have flaws and that makes it so real. She can make mistakes but it's her characterization I love so much.

It's pity people don't like strongly characterized female leads. For shame, in my opinion.

I just love Kumud so much.

Thank you Mr Bansali and all the creatives of SC for giving a character like Kumud.

Of course...Kumud is an extremely enlightening character, unlike all the others currently...
I have been a fan of Jenni's acting unlike you from her DMG times, and i also firmly believe that execution is double the effort than the making..

Good to know 😆 I thought I was talking to no one 😆

Kumud is perhaps the only different female lead portrayed in a hindi soap to work for a living. I mean seriously how many women are shown to actually have a job? Not many at all.

Kumud is my favorite character too.
yes Im one of Jennifers ardent fans from her previous shows and tend to be biased towards her and her character more often than not. but The character and the portrayal give all the reasons for the inclination. Kumud is certainly a strong female lead and as you pointed out is relatable and inspirational at the same time. The most endearing part, for me, is that she is treated and in fact is no less than the son for her father and the house. A level headed (and at times hot headed) lady with vintage charm makes me swoon over her and Im a girl. Again my liking for Jen is enforced by Kumud and vice versa.

Acting is important and Jenny does well(really well), but the characterization is very important as well!

Agree !! 👍🏼
I would say that kumud's character is one of the revolutionary characters in Indian television. Kumud symbolizes an aspiring lady who cares for her kith and kin, earns for her family, educates children. Not often you can see such type of bold women characters in Indian television. Most of the Indian soaps used to come up with stereotypical female leads. But the trend is changing nowadays. I'm happy that my fav show is also one among such shows !! We must appreciate SLB and the CV's for portraying kumud in a very inspiring manner !!
Love you kumud !!! ❤️
