Dwelling on the Details: Everyone Has a Story...
{Episode 325}
May 21st, 2013: "Aaja ve maahi, tera rasta udeek diya..."
A/N: Compiling a few thoughts...More to come, in a proper review, when I find the time!
I just finished watching the episode and if this is the end, I'm fine with it.
I know that the final conversation that Yash-Aarti had was about the PV2 people and that might not sit well with a lot of people. But the way I'm looking at it is...if we look at PV as a story of Yash-Aarti's life together, of which we merely caught a glimpse for these past 15 months, this conversation becomes just another natural, ordinary conversation in their life, because in the world that they inhabit, "the PV2 people" are real people whom they have encountered, just like we come across people in our lives, become part of their lives for a little while, and then go on our way. Similarly Yash and Aarti's conversation takes on the form of a "this is what happened today..." story; it's just one more thing that they're sharing with each other and wondering about.
To me, the conversation did naturally fall into place because of the fact that they were sharing stories and because Yash and Aarti were naturally inclined to think about what would happen to those people that they met that day. Those young people's stories were left on cliffhangers for Yash and Aarti as well as for us...Yash and Aarti will go on their way together, and viewers will have the choice to go their separate ways if they'd like, too.
Sure, it's hard to forget that channel politics transpired behind the scenes of the fictional show and I'm not going to ignore that aspect of it...but I'm not super angry about the way the episode ended today, either, because I'm looking at it more from a within-the-narrative perspective. Yash and Aarti will continue to walk their path together, and we have that assurance.
"Whatever happens...happens for the best."
I loved the way Yash ended with that line - it is something optimistic, reassuring, and Yash speaks from personal experience now, too.
I absolutely loved the Yash-Aarti phone conversation, Aarti's performance, and the final scene in their room (yes, conversation and all). And Yeh Dil Hai. When the female vocalist joined the male vocalist for a final duet of Yeh Dil Hai, I felt so, so happy...Just knowing that Yash and Aarti are at peace together is enough for me.
*To Be Continued...*
