I was prepared for the biggest step in my life...

Something that would change everything forever

but I didn't know this step wasn't what I expected to be.

I was so happy today,

it was our three year anniversary and I was going to surprise her with the best date ever.

I already had reservations at the Louie's Restaurant,

it was really classy and big and I was prepared. I was prepared for the biggest step in my life.

My heart was beating fast, my hands were clammy

and her Beautiful hazel eyes made me really goofy, but I didn't care as long as she was with me.

She was smiling a really big grin, the biggest I have ever seen

but I'm happy knowing she is smiling for me.

I'm happy knowing she is there.

I'm happy knowing she feels the same way about me.

But what I'm happy the most; it's that she is mine.

"Arnav, you have really outdone yourself"

She was looking beautiful, no girl could ever compare.

"Only for you Khushi" I smiled but inside I was jumping in happiness.

"Wow, three years Arnav, happy anniversary"

Wait, I was supposed to say that first! What kind of man am I?

Don't freak out, just say it, smooth

"H-happy anniversary S-Sunshine" Smooth. Not.

She just giggled; her beautiful laugh was enough to change my mood.

Come on Arnav, it's now or never.

"Khushi..." I looked at her and I was nervous.

"Yes...?" Come on Arnav, you can say it!

"Do you want to leave and Have a walk at the beach?" And I chickened out.

"Sure!" She stood up with her beautiful red dress, it was perfect.

It was strapless and was just above the knee.

We left to the beach, it was beautiful and the moon was glowing.

After walking and talking along the beach we walked to the car.

We were crossing the street and it had to be now or never.

I was going to make my move, ask her to marry me;

it was going to be the biggest step in my life.

"Khushi! Wait" She was walking in front of me. She turned around and smiled.

We were 3 meters afar. She was smiling and her brown hair blowing with the wind.

I took a step towards her.

But then Everything happened so fast.

The noises, her beautiful face now covered in fear.

Before everything happened I saw her eyes,

they had a lovingly emotion but quickly turned into fear.

Her last facial expressions were shocking, her wide eyes, her mouth agape, her almost scream.

Then she was hit by a car. Noises came, blood on the street, the ambulance and me.

I was left alone.

Now I'm without My Khushi, she died Leaving me alone forever.

That night, I was prepared for the biggest step in my life...

but I didn't know this step wasn't what I expected to be.

I wasn't ready for that, to lose the love of my life.

And now all I got is a step I will never be able to make and the regret of not making it earlier.

I will regret it as long as I love her, forever and always,
