Which film's fate has surprised you this year?

I'd have to say Aashiqui 2 and Go Goa Gone. I thought the former would be a flop or an average at most but it did considerably well. As far as Go Goa Gone is concerned, I thought it would open slow but pick up with good word of mouth but the B.O response has been lackluster. The reaction to these two was definitely not what I expected.

Unlike many, I wasn't surprised by Himmatwala's fate though. I had a feeling it would tank miserably when I saw the naino mein sapna song last year.😆😆

I can't remember my initial impression of the rest that released this year though.

Suprised: ashiquii 2.. No one expected this movie to HVe such a great response !! Though music,esp Tum hi ho, pairing and theme were gripping

The reason there weren't high expectations because in the past both were in movies that didn't do well, and weren't hyped like many stars( reminds me on BBB and ranveer singh)..Also, movie wasnt released on a wide scale just domestic yet managed 70 crore which is huge !! And bhatts made alot has budget was low 12- to max 20 crore!! And the stars became instant sensations over night!!

I saw the movie online as it wasnt released abroad ( a shame), the movie was magical, gripping, kept one glued!!😊👏

Not suprised

Go go gone i didnt except it to click and it didnt, i dont think avg/mass audience is into zombies (esp an indian movie with this theme) !! Its more suited multiplex only and NRI audience so numbers/outcome no shock

Other movies that came out and did well or not cant comment as had no idea what to expect !!

Aashiqui 2--I didn't expect it to do as well as it did, especially because I thought the acting in the trailer was...bad. Plus the film gave me a mega Rockstar/Abhimaan/Sur vibe so I didn't expect much from the story either.

I expected SP 26 and GGG to do better than they did.

I was kinda surprised by Himmatwaala BO (it always looked like shit) because I thought if not 100 crores, it would at least make 70-80 given audience preference for this brand of cinema 😆

Yeah, Ashiqqui 2 was surprising... I skipped it after some people spoiled it for me cuz it sounded like a bunch of BS. I thought Luv Ka The End also put that girl's career to end but guess not.

Aashiqui 2 definitely I thought it would be an average movie but it's a blockbuster and I loved it so yeah I'm happy..

Chashme Baddoor.. didn't expect it to be a hit..

Chasme Baddoor was looked as if it was gonna tank looking at general response when trailer came out. But it surpassed all that and became successful. Though I'm a David Dhawan fan, and seeing no star value thought it was gonna tank. I loved this movie though.

Jolly LLB, a movie with light humour and great message. With no big star, it still worked tremendously we'll.

As for Go Goa Gone, Special 26, Race 2 and Murder 3 I expected wayyy more. Especially Race 2 not crossing 100cr was a shocker

Race 2 didn't cross 100 crores? I thought that was the only film this year that did although I didn't understand why.😆

Surprised by Himmatwala because crap like Dabangg2 also worked. Himmatwala seemed to have all the right indgredients of a masala hit.

Also surprised that GGG will be average at best. I thought it would do better.

I am not surprised by A2, Jolly LLB working. Both clicked for me from the promo stage. I think even S26 did well for itself. Only its cost makes it a semi-hit.

The biggest surprise was Chasme Baddor becoming a hit.

A2 for sure..i had a feeling it wud atbest be hit as music was too good👏..but it became blockbuster..😲😆

ABCD did really well considering it didn't have any huge stars and the real "hero" of the movie was just the dance and talent. I'm glad it did well and I'm hoping ABCD 2 is even bigger and bettter!

Aashiqui 2. I thought it would do above average business but I think the music really helped its case. Plus Aditya Roy Kapoor seems to have acted really well.

Jolly LLB. Hadn't even heard of this movie until people told me to watch it. It was really an amazing movie. Seems to be inspired by the Salman Khan case and had some amazing acting by Arshad and Boman Irani.
