Episode 273 Discussion: 16th May 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum.
When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

Episode 273 Discussion - EOD Summary

RK proposes marriage to Madhu, Madhu accepts and returns to RK mansion with RK much to Padmini's disapproval.

Events Of The Episode

1. RK spreads rose petals on the chawl staircase and asks Madhu to come downstairs. Padmini, Trishna and Sultan watch stunned as Madhu slowly descends the staircase and goes near RK. RK shows her the heart decoration kept on the ground and tells her that it represents his heart which is currently broken to pieces by none other than himself. He is entrusting it to Madhu for safekeep. He further announces to the public that so far in his life he never believed in love. Not because nobody loved him but because before today, he never felt so strongly about love. He tells Madhu that she will never ever understand the depth of his feelings for her, his pagalpan, deewanagi for her. He said so far he was afraid to be vulnerable in front of her. But now there is no fear, ego, shame, hesitation, nothing. There is only love and that for only you and I love you and will love you forever. Madhu is in tears after hearing this.

2. RK further says that from now every moment in the future, why even in every birth I will love only you Madhu. He becomes serious and acknowledges that so far he has given only betrayal, dishonor, insult, heartbreak to Madhu. However now he seeks her company and wants her help to take the biggest and most important decision of his life. Then he gets down on bended knee. Madhu is shocked and so is everyone. He implores her to give meaning to his scattered life, fill it's solitude with the sweet music of her breaths, He asks her if she will become his wife officially and properly, if she will marry him? He asks her not just her hand but all of herself. Then out comes the ring and he waits for her answer. Padmini goes inside her house. Madhu is stunned, shocked, torn. All watch with bated breath waiting for Madhu's answer. Trishna who is watching from upstairs exclaims to herself that Madhu is lying not to RK but to herself. She loved and will always love RK and she is the only one who is unaware of this fact. Sultan overhears this and is grim.

3. RK cajoles her for the answer and Madhu smiles thru her tears and says yes. RK is estatic, Radhaji happy and everyone claps. RK puts the ring on Madhu's finger, both are emotional and they both hug. Sultan watches them from afar and then leaves. He drives away speedily and recollects all that happened in chawl. The dupatta that is in his car covers his face, which he throws away fuming.

4. Madhu comes back inside the house and Padmini rushes to her and demands what she is doing there. Why is she not able to stick to her plan and how will she complete her revenge? Trishna questions her if she has the guts and courage in her and knows what she is doing? RK however from the door, answers Trishna that along with guts and courage Madhu has her RK. RK addresses Padmini as Maa and tells her that he will leave Madhu here and come back after 2 days with barat to marry Madhu with all the rituals. He further promises Padmini that he will be a good Son-In-Law to her. Madhu insists that she will become a bride in RK mansion. RK requests Padmini to let go of her anger, ego and hate as he has done the same. They both leave and Padmini cries while Trishna consoles her.

5. Sultan goes back to the same dargah and remembers all that happened since he met Madhu and relives those painful memories.

GRPs last week:
Most channels did the same or had miniscule drops compared to last week. Starplus is number 1, followed by Max at number 2.

Colors decreased marginally by 1% compare to last week, and is now at number 5 position among channels. Most of Colors shows did the same or were a little better than last week.

TRPs:
After a drop the week before to the #9 position, MB is back at #7. Yaay! TRPs for MB this week were 2.5, marginally higher than last week's 2.4, see chart below:
Note: does not take into consideration impact of adding new markets at various points. Size of these markets, viewing patterns, demographics, level of digitization etc. of those markets would impact TRPs. Also, hard to judge IPL's exact impact.

Hopefully this teeny tiny increase in TRPS of 4% vs. the week before indicates a change in the downward trend we've been seeing for weeks on end (it may not even be statiscally significant, but who cares, we'll take whatever good news we can get!) Even if the PH/CVs want to keep the show in a "holding pattern" until the end of IPL, hopefully they now have an idea as to what a losing strategy is (we all know what that means) and have a plan to reversing course. Fingers crossed, peeps!

And then finally, a comparison to other top 10 shows. The chart below which shows TRP increase/drop from last week indicates that most shows did better last week. The blue bars are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same.

PS: all my usual caveats apply - this is a rough analysis etc etc. Feel free to point out the holes (I freely admit there's probably some!)

RK and Madhu were so good together!! I refuse to believe that Madhu had even a single thought of revenge in her mind. She lost herself in RK and he in Madhu (hopefully).

I wish RK had closed his eyes when he and Madhu were hugging each other. Then it would have been truly perfect.

Sultan was heartbroken. Well, at least he understands that Madhu still loves RK. Trishna's self talk (has she gone crazy watching RK-Madhu's antics? 🤔) should make it clear if nothing else does.

Padmini disapproves .. well I disapprove of her 😒! What does she want? She doesn't approve of Madhu's revenge and she still wants Madhu to take revenge? Make up your mind lady! 😡 And why was she crying? Because RK called her "Maa!" (😲) or because Madhu went with him that instant()?

Do you peeps think that RK overheard the Malik family conversation regarding revenge?

love the rishbala scene and RK proposal style, , well I was confuse with Mb expressions 2day dosent at all seems revenge is there in her mind today when RK proposes her. and bhai what to say hope this golden heart gangster use his brain and see rishbala clearly looks love with each other and stop distrubing love birds now, dont know why was he depressed??/ for not able to marry or propose married women???

WOW ! what soothing music was played when the confession was on naya wala, abs perfect ! hum hai deewane also..

I'm really very happy today with the confession bec. now i'm 100% sure that this time, RK is not lying..he's genuine..his confession is genuine and heartfelt...finally he admitted her heartbreak was his heartbreak...i care least abt what Madhu was thinking..if she has revenge in her mind (which is almost pucca), she's a very good actress then...she can cry whenever she wants to and does not hesitate in PDA with her husband/ex husband/half husband/lover/whatever ! look at his exitement when Madhu said yes 😆 "ma madhu ne haan kar di" 😆

camera zooming on extras cud have been avoided 🤢 TG for small mercies, one by one , everybody marched out ...specially mr. GHG..zindagi ne gham de diye ab? in the morning he didn't know that he's in love, in the afternoon he's acting like a zombie rejected in love? zindagi ne kaha tha sapne dekhne ko 🤢

Trishna telling him that Madhu will only love RK was a blessing in disguise i wanna elaborate that revenge/no revenge Madhu will keep loving RK only..how the trio changed their expressions the moment they entered their house 😡 specially looking at RK🤢

so sad, Padmini , Trishna and Madhu didn't get the privacy to discuss Madhu's "plan" 🤢

RK calling PAdmini MA didn't have any affect on her...everything cannot be sorted out when RK wants so he will have to learn to give people some time...Madhu rejecting RK's idea of getting baarat n going back to RK mansion means that her plan is on ! honestly, i dun care...now that he's admitted to himself and this world that he's in love, know one thing..haque and responsibility go hand and hand..if you want haque, fulfill the responsibilities and vice versa...i dun mind watching him go through a heartbreak (although it's gonna be painful) , yet i want him to rise and shine in love rather than act like an obsessive possessive man like he's been acting !

Please Madhu don't break RK's heart. Please Please please.

Wasn't he absolutely adorable. I am sure he is not faking it this time (unless ofcourse CV's love start overflowing for Blue eyed M**ster). His each and every dialogue was just perfect and I loved the fact that he said he left his ego and everything behind. Everything was just perfect. Can anyone resist this guy when he is in such mood😳

I don't think Madhu was in her senses either. She said Yes and was happy till she went and met RK's Monster-in-law

What is Paddy's problem. She wants revenge, she does not want revenge. Basically, she want her daughter to sulk forever. She is like no mother I have ever seen in my life. I never liked the Mallick family except Mallick. He tried killing RK but was somehow decent and not fake like others. But yes, liked Trishna today. Initially, I thought she will again be jealous of Madhu as Madhu was getting everything that she ever dreamed of. But her dialogue was good especially because sultan was the audience. But not sure how much it went in his head😡

Sultan can you please throw that dupatta off it's irritating me like crazy😡 And what was all that crying was for? How can you be in love with someone so much in a matter of few days. Forget few days, he realized only a few hours back and was being a devdas🤢 But then anyway, I don't care for you donny or your love. The character I care for did everything right today, so I am so so happy😳

Ayeee hayeee, how many watched a repeat before coming here??? I watched sultan wale scenes too today again, I wish some thing pierced into his nonexistent brain?? Like being pointed out cheap thrills, I laughed hard while he was roaming like all time aashiq

I am super sure that for the moment none were faking. Madhu did flow with the moment and Radhaji was like a little kiddo clapping, paddo ki problem I don't know. That hug was not perfect from rk side. madhu did it whole heartedly, rk was more like very excited and happy kid. Rk was right there while they were discussing badla plan, may be even if he overheard, I want him to win her back properly now.
Madhu wants to test rk for the coming days I think, judge him and his intentions. I still think she will give up on revenge, was it not more than obvious that she wants RK and his love more than revenge. Unless cvs risk playing dirty again it should all go good,I heard paddo will ask sultan for help and maybe he will take advantage, now that his intentions are clearly not selfless.
Lets all wait for the big day

P.S madhu looking at dipali in precap was like" u wondered why I left home in the morning, see the result of that"
