It released and bombed? That's sad. Not enough publicity, I believe. I often see pictures of Bollywood celebs with their kids at English movie premieres. KJo could have sent invites for Gippi in a similar fashion rather than just inviting young actors.

I think 75 lakhs is actually good for a non-starrer opening. Like someone else mentioned, this isn't a theater movie. People would rather see this at home on DVD and watch mindless commercial cinema at the theaters instead. I think they promoted it well though. I hope it still churns out average business.

havent seen it but the promos themselves, what was NEW in it?

except the actors were younger than 16?

Who was Karan Johar targetting as the audience?

pre teens?

because even pre teens go for Transformers and Gossipp

I guess the audience doesn't like variety...can't blame the actors and writers for repeating the same crap over and over again. Things like Gippi don't sell. It won't be a 100 crore film without an item song, jokes, weird/irrational fight scenes and well-known faces.

Im reaally sad i wanted this to do well 😭
I think it was mostly because of bad timing, soo many films are on and the IPL aswell! More promotion also would have been nice!

well i wanted to go for it...desperately...but no one else seemed to be interested!🤢

then i thot of taking my 7yr old niece...but saw the promo where girls discuss their b**bs size n preiods n stuff..n i dint want to subject a 7 yr old to that. so Idea Cancel as of now...

but might catch it during the week 😊
