and this film could have easily become a hit if it was targetted in the right direction. means the film talked about only the girl's point of view of their adolescence concerns. IF it included boys as well I guess it would have got even great attention. i am a girl myself but i know that boys do a lot of mischief in their adolescence days, in school especially. thy are more wilder lol.

i m actually sad abt its failure

the film never focused on adoscelent life or life in school but focussed mor eon fact that people that are weird, fat or say that are bullied in school constantly - those kind of children have right to stand up and they can do something! It was never in direction of SOTY
SOTY was successful only becuase of Music and Barebodied Varun and Sid which captured imagination of quite a lot of people!
Saying that, i m also dissapointed of this films failure!

because its a kids movie... SOTY was all glossy and stuff, with nice songs and good looking actors... gippi had none of that!

Was there any movie which had kids as the primary cast a success? There was TZP, Mr.India but both had well known stars in important roles. Movies like Gippi dont usually do well. Kids who should be watching movies like Gippi actually prefer a Dabangg or SOTY.

if it had arrived from any production house, i guess it was expected. but after all it was a dharma production. so a little better performance was expected.

The story seems nice, but I don't think I'd watch it in theaters.

Yes but then it wasnt promoted like the usual Dharma movie. There is lots of promotion and buzz for YJHD but not for Gippi. Dharma also crazily promoted SOTY. I think kids dont like to watch kiddies films...they are more fascinated with a grown up world as shown in SOTY.

if it wasn't even promoted. no buzz around it...why was it made in the first place. i mean i can't believe that makers didn't have the idea that kiddie audiences doesn't have any interest in these films. its not right to have it lose so badly on the commercial front. after all so much hard work is put by a team of so many people. wish they have targetted on kid film festivals where it could earn decent name and fame.

^^^Maybe it was made because the producer KJo felt connected to the story/situations as he too as a kid had similar issues.
Or maybe someone wanted to dubao some of their black money for tax purposes.
