Urmi - Urmi is Mehta's eldest daughter who is quintessentially a dreamer. She loves music and cinema. Urmi loves to do all that is restricted like sneaking out of college to feast upon the famous panipuri's at lahori gate and to gossip with her best friend Zoya. Urmi is romantic too as she is deeply in love with Sandeep.
Mr.Mehta - Mr. Mehta is Urmi's father who runs a grocery shop in the mohalla. He is a good business man and a loving husband. His life is more or less in his control except for two things, his love towards his two daughters Urmila (Urmi) and Sharmila, and his weight!
Mrs.Mehta Mrs. Mehta is a loving mother. She has started her search for the perfect groom for both her daughters, like any other loving mother would do. She is caring and is the most important member of Mr. Mehta's family.
Sukha Singh:No one knows when and why Sukvinder Singh became Sukha Singh! Is it him being skinny or his dry sense of humour? He owns an electronic shop in the mohalla which recently his sole heir Jugle turned into a DVD circulating library! The other thing that disturbs him is the unmarried status of his sister Sona.
Pammi Singh - Since the day she came from Jalandhar, Pammi has managed Sukha Singh's family with great success. The only failure that stay's daggered in her heart is her inability to increase her husband's weight. The amused mohalla always finds her running with her glass of bhais ka dhoodh behind her husband and son!
Sona - She is Sukha Singh's sister. Sona is a 28 year olf woman who awaits the arrival of her love back from Kargil... She had dreamed of a happy family, like any other girl would dream of, but her dreams were shattered when her lover never returned. She takes care of his old parents.
Jugle - Jugle is the only son of Sukvinder 'Sukha' Singh, a good for nothing boy with a heart of gold. Jugle knows that his vagabond status hurts his parents but hopes that they understand that getting Urmi is the sole purpose wahe guru has sent him for! So to cope with the peer pressure of 'do something in life' he has changed his father's electronic shop into a DVD library to stay close to the mohalla or more so to stay closer to Urmi!
Rahul - Rahul is the second son of Mr. Gupta who is pampered by his mother. He believes that fame and fortune await him in Mumbai and it's only a matter of time before a famous film producer will find this superstar in the making! He too love Urmi and that is one of the reasons why he hesitates to go to Mumbai.
Mushtaq - It's never been easy for a tailor's son to become a Fashion Designer but somehow, Mushtaq has managed to achieve this and his ancestral tailor shop is now known as the 'Style Guru'! No one knows what makes Mushtaq more happier and that is when he designs a fabulous costume or when Urmi walks into his house to meet his sister Zoya.
Hari - Hari is the son of a government employee. He is the fourth jigsaw, who completes the band of four. A do-gooder and a man of many talents, from breaking mangoes to getting a ticket of the morning adult show in capitol cinema, Hari is the man! He sincerely believes that lady luck awaits around the corner. First, a government job then marrying Urmi!
