I am also a mother but I won't give my child's hand to the first person that comes to my home. I would not even pair them up at the first instance. It is not about trusting my child's choice but it is more of me making sure the guy my daughter has selected is indeed a worthy person. And that conclusion can't be drawn with just one meeting. My take on this scene is that the creatives are completely lost as to how they should take the story forward pre-marriage and all they have is the story after marriage. But according to me the character sketching starts from the first episode - you can't recover the character mid way in the show.

I feel that these are aspects of the story the creatives should incorporate regardless of how mundane they may seem. It presents the characters are careless rather than carefree. A parents role is no small task that should be sidelined in a story. I wonder if it is varying degrees of approval that allow the types of reactions we see in shows or reality.

Yeah that scenario was a little weird seeing that this is an Indian show. No matter how much any parents, Indian or otherwise, might trust their child's judgement I think most would have serious reservations of their daughter making such a decision so quickly. How as a parent can you agree to such a thing epecially as your daughter is going to live with these people that you don't even know and even a boy that she doesn't really know that well. I could understand had CC been seeing Manav for a while and had met his family and her family had met Manav a few times but then I guess this is like poetic licence except it's Indian TV serial licence to gloss over certain issues to get to the point of the story. All I can say any man coming to marry one of my daughters better be ready for a full on 3rd degree interrogation and invetigation into him and his family going back n generation😃

@Bold:- agree with you 100% and I don't think that makes me conservative or non forward thinking parent. When the creatives are marketing this as a very real life story then I would have been happy if they had kept a little more realistic portrayal for the parents role too. I can understand that they are moving the story ahead to get to the next high point but don't rush so much that everything looks fake.

I don't know how to define meeting someone but I would like to know what the tipping point is. I would think there is a natural point when you don't need to ask if that person has been accepted or not.

Yeah, may be that's because they have faith in Chhan chhan. Firstly they have thought about her choice and they have also liked Manav personally. Now, let's see what happens next when they will come to know that Uma ben is Manav's mother!!!

That is the moment I do hope the entire technical team covers properly. It promises a lot since they bumped right over it at this juncture. It should shed some light on the inner thinkings of each Sarabhai and their backstory. Maybe?

It's because they trust CC. Everyone trusts CC. Take Purvi for example she couldn't even decied if she wanted to marry Hitesh without CC.

Trust is a hard thing to come by in this age. Something which I want to believe society still has and can depend on. But not everyone trust ChhanChhan. 😆

And it is not as if the parents are unaware of the haste of the situation. In this case, to me, it seems the parents are out right disregarding the fact that their child, who is careful about marriage, has declared a suitor within short notice. I give the show dramatic license only if it can do dramatic justice. Otherwise it becomes scenario.

Detailed questions are a nice tool to use in cracking the nut.
