When will sarabhais check manav and co.

I was surprised that the entire Sarabhai family is passing Manav as a formal companion for ChhanChhan without any further inquiry. I am not sure I would be comfortable not knowing who the opposing family is and acknowledging to your child the person they have selected is valid.

How would you have dealt with the situation had Simple informed you of Manav's doings?

I had exactly the same thought ... how can the Sarabhais be so accepting of Manav without checking about his family.

But I guess ... this is from personal experience ... they trust CC's judgement, and also, having met Manav themselves and liked him, they can't fathom that his family could be so very different from their own ...

My cousin sister had the same experience ... she liked a guy and her family actually knew the other DIL of that family, so they assumed the guy's family would be similar, as their friend's daughter was married into that family ... they didn't bother to check much ... after the engagement, they realised how much more conservative the guy's family was. Fortunately the guy was really nice, so it didn't matter in the long run ... but there were major adjustment issues at first.

Perhaps some people are still trusting even in today's society. It would be hard for me to put my full approval behind something that has equal chances of smashing someones feelings. Seems the show will introduce this aspect in short time but to hear an approval from Dadi was particularly odd.

Yeah, may be that's because they have faith in Chhan chhan. Firstly they have thought about her choice and they have also liked Manav personally. Now, let's see what happens next when they will come to know that Uma ben is Manav's mother!!!

Isn't that how desi tv soaps work anyway? Half-truths and conveniently glossing over some issues etc 😆
The Sarabhais are high on some kind of happy juice, they believe that people are fundamentally ...just nice, which is sweet I suppose, but also naive. I am almost terrified of how CC will manage UB once she marries and comes into that house. Barring a short time when she had an altercation with Manav, she is altogether too mild-mannered and sweet. In fact, Manav with his penchant for lying, the revenge attempts he made against CC and his ability to manipulate his mom seems better equipped to deal with UB.
Edited to Add: I have heard about tons of people who have gone through a marriage without doing any relevant backchecks and lived on to regret it. But I think here since they want to show how "liberal" the Sarabhais are, they are placing their entire faith in CC's judgement. There were ample opportunities to bring the truth out, but I think stories work best when one person has more information than the others. UB knows everything and CC doesn't -- it is a classic the bad guy holds most of the cards scenario. Of course, the good guy will still win 😆

It's because they trust CC. Everyone trusts CC. Take Purvi for example she couldn't even decied if she wanted to marry Hitesh without CC.

Has to be a build up, otherwise the whole story goes sideways. Personally, if I found out about what Manav did I would have him walk in through the front door for a 'sit down, let me tease my child, I brought who you like' meeting. 😊 Sort of a win win where I find out more about the person.

Actually I would say it is a big blooper on the part of the creatives and this just shows the screenplay has huge loopholes. I am also a mother but I won't give my child's hand to the first person that comes to my home. I would not even pair them up at the first instance. It is not about trusting my child's choice but it is more of me making sure the guy my daughter has selected is indeed a worthy person. And that conclusion can't be drawn with just one meeting. My take on this scene is that the creatives are completely lost as to how they should take the story forward pre-marriage and all they have is the story after marriage. But according to me the character sketching starts from the first episode - you can't recover the character mid way in the show.
