Disappointed - why is it that all their other scenes had so much more passion. Bc there was a sense of desperation? Loss? Sadness? Bitterness? Bittersweet?

I don't know, other scenes have been so intense.

Something was off. I take back some of my original criticism. Watched it again. but idk something was off. the sudden switch from a giddy kid to that intense feeling (when he's tucking her hair back)... where did that come from? i think "kid" is what captures it. everything was fine until the hug. the hug was very much the kid inside of saras smiling-laughing...

Gautam is the king of expressions...so really very disappointed. I wonder how the scene was explained to him. They should have a making interview to explain the emotions.

and the hug was sooo awkward for kumud. maybe it's bc they're the same height. but something was off. jennifer's hands were so awkward. and she looked so much more mature in this part. maybe karan was right- kumud is the "hero" of the serial. idk this part i'd blame the direction-directors.

i know they've been teasing us- but this sudden jump to a hug? maybe it's to illustrate the sudden innocent feeling.

i can't express this well enough. hope someone who can will do so here.

hope i didn't offend anyone, just expressing an honest opinion.

I agree with u. Everything right up until the hug was amazing, but the hug seemed forced. When he pulled her in for a hug, she looked confused.I did feel the hug was a little awkward.

YES u r not clear !! what exactly do u mean by that ??

no matter how well u know a guy if he hugs u in the middle of the night n if u r a unmarried girl from a very conservative family u feel embarrassed . which jennifer portrayed very nicely .

kumud is not the traditional bubbly always jumping kind lead here . she was awkward . CV wanted u to see her hesitation n then giving up to the guy she loves .

n gautam's height !! really that the most stupid critics critical logic i have ever heard . or i think u were looking or expecting some other actor u just cant say his name right . 😊..its ok i got u .. NO ...

gautam rode is our saras n ur gonna get to see a lot more of this hug n kissy soon so stop looking for someone else n get used to him .

thanks

Maybe because I had no idea it was coming (was thinking things were going to go south, and he was headed for dubai), but I was pleasantly surprised.

I did notice an awkward Kumud, but I think the script called for that. She was caught off guard. So were we, I think (or atleast me). So she didn't know what to do. Yep, there was a bit of the editing faux pas there, but I'll leave that aside for now.

As for Saras's expression. I'm CHOOSING, to believe it was because they want him depicted as a kid. His smile, as you said, was very kiddish. The entire change from giddy smile, to intense look, to back to 'kid who got the candy' look, was all ... hmmm ... can't find the words. It all oscillated between light moments of 'I'm so happy I wanna sing 'I am in love'' to intense moments of 'did I just gain the right to fix your hair'? But I think it was meant to be that way (??). Possibly, because in a way Saraswatichandra stopped growing, maturing, when he was a kid. And now that happiness that's essential for healthy growth is coming back to him. So in ways, he is picking up where he left off from, and that's him being a kid.

Also, he doesn't know how to handle love and support - he hasn't seen it. So the last time he dealt with it was before his mother passed away. So he'll deal with this the same way as he dealt with it then ... like a kid.

Well - that's my two cents. I don't know why, but I really like Gautam Rode. So I'd hate to believe it was a bit weird coz of his acting.

That said - I absolutely loved the episode, loved the hug, loved the progress, and loved all the acting. There were a few 'hmmm' moments, but I'm willing to wait and see where they lead.

Saras is a tough nut to crack ... but cracking he is ... surely but slowly. So, maybe this is all meant to be this way, so we get to see the real effect of the crack much later .. dunno.

I liked the scene.

Ofcourse Kumud was confused certainly she wasn't expecting more so because she knows how reticent Saras is. He never speaks his mind let alone show in actions.

And Jennifer portrayed her confusion very nicely. And Saras smiling I thought he looked peaceful and hence smiling all the way like a kid (which I thought was a nice touch) He was finally able to admit his feelings for her.

hmmm! something was missing for sure, and i wud not blame the actors, the direction and editing was not right..i think the cvz r rushing the scenes because of the drop in trps, they want to speed up the story, i don't know something was not rt about the most awaited scenes, saras's character is like that, if u watch the movie saraswatichandra..saras is shown to be suble and docile like a heroine, and kumud played by nutan is more strong of a character like a hero..the actors r doing what the story demands and what the directors tell them to do! and karan ki kya baat hai usko to apni sexy wife ke aage kuch dikhta hi nahin😉!

I think right now he is too happy ..that's why he was smiling all along but intense look will come here onwards I think!..I think this guy was hardly smiling before so it looks a little overdose all of a sudden..
I didn't see this scene as awkward from girls part!..but there was lot of time spent on Saras smiling which was making her awkward!..and shy perhaps! Coz she was being bold!

The hug was perfect and the expressions were perfect. Thats what happens in real life when someone hugs you so tightly and Kumud had no room to move.☺️

Interesting post! The hug stood out to me too, but for different reasons. Like the original poster, I can't exactly put my finger on what made it different, but unlike the original poster, I actually found it a refreshing change.

Saras's naivety in terms of relationships and expressing himself is seen through his random "bursts" of affection for Kumud (out of nowhere he goes in to tuck in her hair, or stop her and hold her wrist... or in today's case, pull her into a hug). I feel like the slight awkwardness of their hug is exactly what I liked because it had a sense of reality to it. I think Kumud portrayed the aspect of being surprised/taken off guard really well and the part about not really knowing what to do with her hands kind of helped it in a way. Saras holding on the way he did seemed unadulterated and natural to me... it was a very Saras thing to do... ya know? Even when Kumud starts pulling away, you see a little bit of a hesitance and "what do I do now" type expression in his face. The guy had never known how to express himself, he isn't thinking or planning any of this! It's just happening.

And I do agree, the fact that they're of similar height probably adds to it being more "normal/average" than a typical Bollywood/tv serial magical hug where the girl is often engulfed in the guy. I've always loved those hugs, but I liked this one too. There's something about Saras and Kumud that has me completely obsessed with them <3
